Blogging At This Event:
Welcome To Lock & Load Outpost
We've now got started here at Lock & Load Outpost in Stockport UK.
We'll be checking out all the games going on today as well as everything else including painting and more.
Are you prepared for MK III?
What Games Are Being Played This Morning?
We chat with Jason who you might remember from our coverage of the EU Masters. He talks us through what games are happening this morning.
We have Iron Arena which are casual games alongside some Team Games AND the Spell Draft of which you can learn more of below and see the armies in action.
Catching Up With Kev – The End Of MK II & Thoughts On MK III
We catch up with Kev who did a lot of Warmachine & Hordes videos with us in the past.
Our thoughts turn towards his final games in MK II and the move towards MK III and what he's looking forward to.
Painting MK III Warcasters With Press Ganger Jon!
We stop in to talk with Jon about the painting of the new Khador Warcaster and also what he's looking forward to when it comes to MK III which hits in the morning.
As you can see below we've got a nice beefy character to lead your Warjacks into battle.
Games Of Undercity At Lock & Load Outpost UK
As we mentioned earlier the folks here at the North West Gaming Centre are showing off more of Privateer Press' range which include the likes of Undercity.
We get a quick look at the game for those of you who have never heard of it. It's a neat little take on the 'dungeon crawler' with a Warmahordes spin.
Conversion Corner
As well as all the gaming the folks here are also running a Conversion Corner where you can dig out all manner of different bits from various kits and just start boshing them together to create new models.
First up you'll see Justin's attempt at an Elf Gun Mage- which we think is looking rather awesome. Do you reckon he should look at painting her up?
If you could bosh together any model what would it be?
Getting Hardcore With Warmachine & Hordes
Hardcore is a very entertaining and old school competitive game mode for Warmachine & Hordes. You have 7min turns where you have to try and get everything done so speed is of the essence.
With that in mind you also have to have fully painted armies, nice forces and luxurious tables too - well, most of the time.
Does this sound like a format you'd be interested in or do you prefer to take your time?
Lock & Load End Of Day Round Up Thoughts With Bob (Watch Out For A Few Updates!)
As we draw towards the end of our first session here at Lock & Load UK we talk with Bob Watts who has helped organise the event.
We'll be talking about his highlights from the first night and beyond and learn that even he is waiting to see what's coming up during the Keynote Speech tomorrow morning (for us here in the UK - 5am!)

Trollbloods Vs Cygnar – Warmachine & Hordes MK III Demo Game: Turn Two
We move onto Turn Two of our Demo Game for Warmachine & Hordes Mk III. Here we'll be showing off some more of the new rules and getting stuck into the game with some meaty combats and more.
Who do you think is going to come out on top and what do you make of the new rules?
Trollbloods Vs Cygnar – Warmachine & Hordes MK III Demo Game: Turn Three
It seems like it's time for a bit of a gamble from Peter as he looks ahead to what his Trollbloods are going to try and do to get out of this sticky situation.
We delve into more new rules from MK III and look ahead to an interesting clash here. Will the Trollbloods come out on top or will they be forced back by the superior firepower of Cygnar?
You'll have to wait and see!
It’s Unboxing Time – Taking A Look At What’s Inside The Cygnar Battlegroup
We're sitting down with Jason to have a look inside the Cygnar Battlegroup where we're finding out what's in there alongside the models and their cards.
These look like a prime way to get stuck into Warmachine & Hordes. The Trollbloods unboxing is coming soon!
Catching Up With Jason – How Has MK III Gone Down?
We stop in with Jason, one of the Judges here, to talk about where things stand with MK III at the moment and if we're run into any interesting situations.
If you have any rules questions of your own for MK III drop them into the comments below and we'll see if we can get them answered soon...

welcome to my home town
land of the mad hatters
Can’t wait to get a game of mkIII played! I’m tempted to try out Trollbloods as a new faction.
Nice to see coverage for MK3 on this side of the pond!
Justin and Ben, cool to see you guys “on the road again”! I’m both curious and excited to get my hands on MK III to.
Make sure you get inside scoop on the MKIII rules tommorow – this can be what finaly gets me into warmachine and hordes – do your job guys 😛
Is it normal for tables to look that flat and empty for this game ?
Or did the BoW battle reports and Infinity campaign set such a high standard for wargaming tables ? (ie : is this something only very few tournaments ever have ?)
Warmahordes is typically played using very sparse terrain. However, on some of the themed tables they include larger pieces and more showy items.
It’s one of the things that I think would be great for Warmahordes going forward – to include more terrain.
But, competitively the game has this smaller terrain to allow for very precise gaming.
Infinity needs a lot of terrain to stop the table turning into a killing field. Warmachine wants some terrain but not much else it would get in the way.
Love the models and great to see the coverage. Hopefully get to go next year
Happy Lock and Load everybody!
I am really looking forward to mkIII. I think that it is actually over due. I like the idea of combining the abilities that are similar. I sincerely hope that the rumor about terrain is true, no more toeing in the model must be fully in.
typical for wmh you need only 1-4 walls, 1-2 hills, 1-2 forrests and/or 1-2 houses.
mostly you will not have to much terrain, because if you have much terrain you give a benefit to some fractions and all ohter get disadvantages because they can ignore the terrain.
Not really looked at Warmachine before, it will be really good to follow this blog to see what’s what.
Enjoyed Menoth and Trollbloods, found after 30 pts my enjoyment of game dropped off. Works better at the smaller point scale imo- with Mk3 of course the totals are higher. Looking forward to seeing what the new rules bring to the warmahordes arena
Looking good can’t wait to get the Mk3 download tomorrow
Need more on Hidden City!
cant wait for tommorrow!
Thanks for the coverage gents I’ll be following it keenly from my part of the world. ,,,,,, and 5.00 am ….. that’s nothing … harden up Justin. Since we have just had Quelle Affair it is only fitting that I throw in this Napoleab quote with regards to sleep ” Six hours for a man, seven for a woman eight for a fool.” =)
Seriously yjogh if you could post the keynote that’d be great.
Thank you for the coverage, it seems to have been amazing although the time difference prevented me from watching the twitch live updates. Looking forwards to when Prime and Primal go on general sale and bring on Mk III.
