Not all Guild Ball teams want to score goal after goal, some prefer to do lots of damage and tenderise their opposition. One such Guild is the aptly named Butchers.

The players of the Butcher's Guild like to hit and hit hard and just when you think you've got a successful shot on target their Goalkeeper with a giant Tenderiser (who also goes by the name Tenderiser by the way) will make you change your mind.

Ma Boyz….. (sorry I was just assembling an Orc) …. Love Butchers, what they do do, they do well. (now If only I would put another colour on them aside from the red base coat…….
I would so do the old blue and white striped butchers aprons for these guys…lol
these will be my second faction for the game … and since there is this nice new box for the butchers … i guess they will come to my pitch very soon.

Butchers are okay, but I think the Union do a better job of taking out players especially if you have Captain Rage leading them.
The need better names like pork chop, porterhouse, prime rib 🙂
once again ….these miniatures are screaming at me paint them ….some of the best ive seen in a while ….which team ? ……all of them 🙂
Yeah, I’d be tempted to paint mainly white uniforms… with plenty of evidence that they’ve been playing the game hard… their way 😉

The butchers remind me of an old quote. “I went to a fight the other night, and a hockey game broke out.”
Not particularly my play style, but I can dig it.
My favoured guild, when I grabbed the kick starter decided to go against type and go for the beater team. As they are fragile, they are surprisingly tactical. I like the Ox style, which is setting up aa confrontation with buffs and murdering, takes a little patience to get a good murder ball and the alpha but well worth it.
The other captain fillet is very mobile and more of a superstar captain, fun and deadly as all hell.

The Butchers: I imagine quite speedy, ranged attacks, lots of tripping and pulling over also a lot of damage being dealt out
These are probably the only guild I am not sold on. Don’t know why, but something’s missing for me.

Very cool looking faction. Not my first choice of tactics but sounds a really fun way to play.
I do have to admit I’m really liking the models as there is endless scope for painting blood and gore with them.

Love the pig and beating up your opponent is never wrong 😉
The Butchers also have low tackle results on their playbook. Which helps them to control the ball while they take players out.
Not really sold on this faction, but we’ll see what else is to come 🙂

Sounds like a brutal team but one you have to be careful with that you don’t get in a knock down drag down fight with since their armor is low.
I like the goal keeper idea!
I hate playing against the Butchers, I generally try to keep them away with AOEs while playing my Alchemists. I haven’t played them with my Masons yet.

This is the faction I handed off to my brother, and have been supplying him with the releases as they come. Not because he can only handle a hitty game, but as he’s a butcher himself it seems quite appropriate.

I play the Butchers and my favorite character is Boiler…wonderfully dynamic posed model and awesome rules to boot! Sad we didnt see Shank who is a dodgy agile and very fast missile with a long threat range OR Brisket who is a top striker…and both can play the ball around.
In the last games I’ve felt like exploiting their ball playing abilities to get momentum in another way than the obvious damage way…and have managed to pass the ball around and to score one goal in each match before the opponents were all tenderised and beaten up!!
Another interesting guild to consider, I can see me getting sucked in to all of them lol

Great faction it seems if you wanna just slug it out. Does not seem like you would play the ball much though.
I’m just stunned at the amazing paint job. Wow! Also, fun faction, but I’m still in love with the alchemists.
It’s great to have a real hard hitting team like this. Not my chosen play style, but look really fun.

From what I’ve seen, I think it’s the faction I’m least interested in. Though that means my desire to play them is probably only 8/10, so still interested a lot. But I prefer more diversity in tactics.
You’d think a butchers guild would want to keep people from wondering where their meat comes from.

I purchased “Veteran Ox” today, as a “painting project” a personal challenge.
I deliberately picked one that wasnt in the upcoming starter so that I wouldnt end up with two IF i buy it.

Not liking to play the ball and primarily going smash as a whole faction sounds very limited, bland even. Seem like a solid beginner team though.
I really like the more stoic stance for Ox. Would like to see more poses somewhere between this and the very dynamical ones. So that players look like being actually on the field but not too strangely dancing around.
Once again these studio painted minis are just ridiculously awesome. The detail on all these figures are superb and I am sure they will all be great to paint. I suppose what really appeals to me is the low model count so you can afford to spend a bit more time on each mini. Really cool looking game.

Liking the look of the Butcher’s Guild, but it`s still the “Brewers” for me. Some really nice looking model`s, just a pity i can`t afford the lot.
Love the paint work. Butchers are fun cannons to play. But if people are nasty and knock boar over there goes the melting damage of my line up.
