It's time to meet one of the mighty heroes you and your buddies will be playing as in your games of Myth! If killing monsters from afar and shooting the eyes out of a big howling boss monster is your thing then you might want to play as the Archer!

I always was more a mage type gamer but this sounds like a good option 🙂
Arrgh ! Is it only the Perrys who can sculpt an archer ? The sculpt and the artwork have some really basic flaws. I know this is not the first time I have moaned about poor archer models but i don’t understand why such talented sculptors and artist who are so observant can miss the obvious.
Now I have got that off my chest I’ll settle down and enjoy the vid 🙂

Ranged damage, multi shot, no need for LoS not a bad class
i would like to have a go at this one.
My favorite. I love the sniper stuff. I’d say the archer needs a decent damage dealer as a buddy, but on large tile she really comes to her own. Other heroes often need monsters to be in certain formationor range. With archers everything with range 4 is game.
Haven’t played with the archer yet. Would love to have the other stuff, since I didn’t back the kickstarter.

The archer is my favorite too.
I backed this at captain level, its great fun and the archer is probably my favourite hero at the moment. I would recommend this game but check out megacon games website for how to play, the included instruction manual isn’t great.

Missed this on kickstarter
This sounds like a very combo-heavy game if played right. I hope it doesn’t drag down play too much with the players discussing tactics and how/when to use their cards. I remember some D&D sessions that were more about rules browsing than slaying monsters.
I like the archer, having to think in advance and ready the arrows is a really nice mechanic.
More good stuff Keep it coming.

From what I understand this character can be problematic if the card draw goes poorly. 3-4 turns with nothing to do could really turn people off.
This may be early, but I am really liking this character.
Haven’t played archer yet, but is top of my hit list. Maybe tomorrow’s session…

Thats a unique feature to the game. Limited ammo can hinder you if you go all out.
classic hack’n’slay characters and classic hack’n’slay set up (loot, quests, etc.) and the archer sounds like my kind of character!

The archer sounds very powerful, it would be interesting to know how the characters are balanced. For example what would stop the archer just staying at range all the time, able to do damage whilst not able to be hit by melee opponents?

Why are archers are always women elves?
A game I love is called radiant dawn that had three male archers and they were pretty bad ass. Except Leonardo, he was awful.

Used to play a archer ranger in D&D so this could be right up my street.

Sounds like an interesting play style
A lot of people will house-rule that the Archer starts with one arrow in their quiver, or that the Archer (and usually expanded to each hero) can choose to take a Mulligan draw. This prevents, specifically in the case of the Archer, a character from feeling useless because they don’t have the cards that they need (in the Archer’s case, arrows).
The Archer also loses the most from the “No Rest For The Weary” Story, where the characters start out with extremely limited gear. Because the Archer’s gear is so specialized, without a bow they are completely useless, without a quiver (and thus restricted to 1 arrow) they are severely limited, and do not have access to their signature attack (Orion’s Tears).
Nevertheless, the Archer can be an extremely tactical damage dealer.
Was bummed I missed the Kickstarter. Looks like a great game. Would love to get one of those bundles.

I cannot wait to play this game with my husband. I already have dibs on the archer (being one myself I love that this is an option). Great video and summary. We’re watching the entire series to learn as much as we can and just happened to start with the Archer.
