Hey guys and welcome to another Weekender! This time around we have actually got a hold of the new Lizardmen models and we are having a look at them (I for one really do quite like these new Warhammer Fantasy models - BoW Ben)! As well as that you might have noticed we have some different jungle fighting coming in the shape of 'Nam Week.
The Journeyman League is also in full swing and with the Warmachine one coming to an end soon they are moving onto Dystopian Wars very soon!
On top of that there's masses of news about Firefly: The Board Game, those gorgeous Infinity Bootleg miniatures and plenty more too. Don't forget to check out the links below for a snap shot of this weeks content.
Just a quick sorry as one of the mics wasn't too happy during recording!

james nesbitt would make a good doctor and hes a ulsterman but i get the feeling they want a younger actor the doctor seem to be slowly getting younger and younger
Guys if you think the T-54 is a bad boy, you have got to check out the Centurion Mark 5 these rock, seriously “the daddy tank”.
Hope you are going to the ANZAC troops in the Nam week?
Really looking forward to the coverage.
Like the Helicopters for FOW:Nam.
Cool on the starter league for Dystopian wars, we’re doing one in our local group as well. Good way to get people playing.
Great show as usual guys!
Really looking forward to Vietnam week.
Warhammer show sounds awesome and nam week sounds ace.
aye the Centurion was the best tank in the world for a long time
The Israeli version of the Centurion earned its legendary status during the Battle of “The Valley of Tears” on the Golan Heights in the 1973 Yom Kippur War. Less than 100 Centurion tanks of the 7th Armoured Brigade defeated the advance of some 500 Syrian T-55s and T-62s.
also they did Nuclear tests on it It was placed less than 500 yards (460 m) from the 9.1kt blast and remarkably the tank could still be driven from the site
warhammer stuff might be fun just might have sell my house wife and children to buy a gw army at there prices
well buddy don’t forget the German Tanks: in my oppinion shared by some tankdrivers i know, the best tank is the Leopard 2 Tank built in the 80s and still in duty. And this is why i think he is the best tank: he is built modular so you can change some modules and the Leopard is up to date again. btw the abrams use the gun and the fire controll system from the leopard 😉
well some weeks ago i had a chat with an old centurion tanker and he said that the centurion had some serious problems with the vent system so many of the centurions burnt out. i think he said that the problem was that the ammo was stored in front of the vent system and the cable of the autoloading system sometimes touches the hot vents and so there was always a chance to catch fire.
but back to topic i hope you guys will bring the surfin bird by the trashmen in the nam week?
Iam looking forward to it.
Not only did the Centurion survive the nuclear bomb (it’s engine only stopped because it ran out of fuel) it went on to serve in the Australian Army for another 23 years, including service in Vietnam. It was nicknamed “Atomic Tank” 🙂 The Leopard 2 is a pretty amazing tank, but given the context in which each tank was deployed, I think the Centurion is superior. It was developed during WWII, and it’s still in service today in some pretty hairy places!
love the warhammer idea
topless transfers? cool
‘what would get me back into warhammer’? A price decrease, an updated model of nagash, and for the love of god an updated wood elves book
The Age of Legends series is (in my mind) better than the Horus Heresy. I LOVE the Warhammer Fantasy background and I have read through all of the Sundering books, all of the Nagash ones and starting into Great Betrayal too. It’s such a rich history!
They kind of ruined the story by stopping the Storm of Chaos BUT there is SO much to explore. This series needs to happen.
My mighty Dwarf army will write a grudge against you both if you do not enact this plan!
….oh and as I mentioned in the blurb above, the Lizardmen models look AWESOME!
@warzan I think the warhammer lore show is a great idea, how about getting the warhammer 8th ed week rules coverage back up on Reruns? This would help a lot of people who are like myself trying to get into fantasy from 40k
Nice one, Zak 🙂
I liked the Slann back in the day but the re-booted 5th ed Lizardmen and everything since have done nothing for me. As for my interest in the Warhammer background, as the previous sentence might indicate, anything post-1991 holds very little interest for me.
Cheers Ben!!
Warren, Dave, have a look at the below film of the US department of defense. It is a promo-film for the airmobile division that was deployed in 1965 to central Vietnam.

I like the idea of a warhammer potted history.
I haven’t really played it since 6th/7th edition transition to be honest, but the world of warhammer always seemed far more alive than that of 40K to me. I’ve been endlessly toying with the idea of a new empire army, mainly because i love the perry war of the roses boxsets and thats what I would use them for, but the game as it stands now seems to have lost its way, I hope the next edition (9 I think?) turns out to be a bit of a reboot.
barney the dinosaur with a spear, yea I can go for that
as usual a nice relaxing vid for a Saturday afternoon
Ill be digging out my Nam films in anticipation.
Apocalypse Now, Full Metal Jacket,Platoon, Hamburger Hill, Good Morning Vietnam, etc.
(IMO the ‘Wonderful World’ section of Good morning Vietnam sums up the Nam war quite well….)
IMO, it is good to show the deep and well developed history of the Warhammer World.
GW have over 30 years developing their game worlds.
I really enjoy these weekend shows and congrats to all the winners.
Its cool to hear your going to do Dystopian Wars coverage I have been interested in it for awhile, tho I would really like to see something on Dystopian Legions aswell. The models look awesome but I haven’t seen much about it.
@barretem30 We did film a demo game ages ago, here are the links of you want to check them out.

another cracking weekender! Vietnam week is looking more n more intriguing by the minute n the warhammer history idea sounds good too – have to admit I have at times spent far more time than I should on site like lexicanum and in reading the books, some awesome off-shoots too. sounds great, sign me up!
Lovely weekender. Love your stuff
Great weekender as usual warren and stu crack me up 🙂 just wish Dave could get a word in :), you should have certain people start different topics in the running order just to mix it up abit ? Just an opinion ! Not that I don’t like the banter between stu and warren I just feel that the other presenter’s namely justine and Dave are abit redundant ! Apart from justine clicking his fingers 🙂
I would love to see other theaters of war from the 1960’s such as Malay or central Africa
i loved stu face at the image of the naked lady on the transfer sheet!
Can’t wait for NAM:WEEK
NUFF SAID!!!….http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFdINEExAWw

Videos on Warhammer would be great. I’ve been tempted to get the Age of Legends book about Sigmar (who I think is the Emperor when he was younger, maybe…). So I’d love to hear about him. Looking forward to the ‘Nam vids!
Enjoyable weekender.
If you had a producer behind the camera here’s what he’s be saying:
Nice segeway Warren.
Keep it rolling Stu.
Dave say something.
Look at the camera Justin.
Thanks Warren.
Ok Stu wrap it up.
Dave say something…Dave?
Move on Stu.
Dave can you hear me…Dave.
Wake up Justin.
Dave,Dave? Say something Dave.
Give him a chance Warren.
Dave? For the love of Mike Dave say something! Daaave?
(Sound of shotgun being cocked)
Stu lead Dave in.
Justin nudge Dave.
Warren quiet for a second.
Daaave say something…ppuulleeeeeaaaase!
(gunshot)
Just teasing guys.
Great show. Would love to hear more about the Warhammer World. Warhammer Fantasy Battle was how I got into the hobby, with cardboard tiles as armies. (The sheets printed in the back of the rulebook).
I stopped playing Warhammer when the newest version of the rulebook hit the $100 mark. I just couldn’t justify the expense.
I now have an unboxed Vampire army and a half paint Orc&Gobbo army collected dust.
WOuld love a reason to dig it out.
..YEP…Here we use skinks as meseros and the kroxigors are calandria pulling beasts, huge tourist attraction!!!…. 😉
Looking forward to nam week and more fow stuff.
…..I love lizzard men fluff….the fact that they are the masters of magic…ITS AWESOMEEE!!!….In any other setting you dont expect lizardmen to be above savage monsters, but here they are the HEROES, the ones holding the forces of chaos at bay since the beginig of time, not caring who is in the way of their duty…….LIZZARD MAN RULEEEE!!!!!!!
DIY Pungi pits…bhahahaha.. Cracks me up.
For a moment at the beginning there I thought Justin was going to tell us they’re not called Paddy fields in Ireland.
Really looking forward to some ‘Nam.
And +1 for some Warhammer fluff. I don’t know why but I’ve read so much of the HH novels, so little WFB, yet most of my hobby time still goes on building my Empire army.
Also lizardmen in sombreros? This must happen!*
* that was not me volunteering.
Can’t wait for the ‘Nam image for my wallpaper!
The Warhammer show with Warren and Stu sounds like a really good idea to me
Paint it black!
Looking forward to Nam Week. After that it should be Gen Con coverage, right?
Warhammer show sounds great. Make it more accessible for those unfamiliar. Just started a lizard men army, they are great.
I approve of WWII battles; Bolt Action and FoWFTW have been awesome.
Warren’s Woad Twips: can we see a sculptor at work? I know they do either 3Ups or straight 28mm. I’d love to see both… particularly the conversion between the two.
When can we see a video of one of Stu’s game ideas? You’ve brought him on for a reason, haven’t you? Let’s see an Inheritance game, or his Distopian-Wars-in-the-clouds.
Oh, and I can’t wait to hear about Warren’s RPGs with TOTs. I have a boy who’s freshly 3yo and I’d love to get him going.
great show as always!!
I didn’t have all that much interest in the FoW Vietnam stuff, as my interest in history drops off sharply after WWII, but the way you went on and on about how lovely those M113s are (they are the most APC-looking of all APCs) makes me want them. More minis I don’t need but plan to buy anyway. Thanks loads guys. XD
Warhammer fantasy definitely needs some BOW love.
What would it take me to get into Warhammer or Warhammer Fantasy as some call it. Well the moment I saw the new Lizard men my first thought was, well if I played that game this is what I’d want, massive Dinosaur fan as a kid.
I think GW need to get the lore out there more, Ive just never known many people that play it
Lovin beasts of wr more and more every day
Don’t forget during the Vietnam Week, to mention the Australians and the Battle of Long Tan (in Australia we have the Battle of Long Tan rememberance Day 18 Aug)! D compnay 6RAR of Australians held off approx between 1,500 to 2,500 men from the Viet Cong 275th Regiment, reinforced by at least one North Vietnamese battalion and D445 Provincial Mobile Battalion.
Simple Rule.. don’t mess with the aussies if you can avoid it!!
Yes please, to more WHFB coverage 🙂 … overall background plus battlefield tactics would be awesome! Not as interested in army book breakdowns – more how different forces can be used within the game 🙂
So looking forward to NAM week.
Another great weekender. Keep up the good work guys!
Great vid guys, thanks.
What about Gerard Butler as the doc? This! Is! Taaaardddiiiissss! *kicks billie piper out the door*
nice weekender hey
Great Programme as ever
A History of Warhammer series sounds great. There really is a lot to tell, but it’s mostly hidden in army books. I like how each army book is strongly written from its own perspective. I read a few, so know bits and pieces of every race.
It would be nice to get a more encompassing overview of the entire web of events and viewpoints. It could explain why certain things in the Warhammer world are the way they are. And obviously it would be a great inspiration for modelling and battle scenarios.
Awesome as ever. Vietnam week should be amazing.
when is the dystopian wars “journeymen” going to be?
I could find a home for some free tanks
Having just seen the live show, good call on the 12th Doctor, Stu!
I could not have punched the air higher and cheered louder when it was announced. Really chuffed.
Playin’ FoW alot and for quite some time now, but never even touched FoW Vietnam. Probably because of the fear, what it would do to my bank account. But even if this means NAM:WEEK will ruin me: I’m looking forward to it so much!
FoW never really interested me, but the new ‘nam line looks interesting. I really like studying about the vietnam war.
goood morning vietnam!
Nam week? that would be funny…
B.
Rhino’s for the win!
My attitude towards Warhammer Fantasy has always been “but 40K is so much bigger and has so much more potential”. However, after hearing the backstory for the Lizardmen, I’m rather intrigued.
I prefer 40k as a game and background but I find of late I have been enjoying the Fantasy offerings from Black Library more than 40k. Specifically the scope of what you can do in the Warhammer World with world effecting events is greater even though 40k has a whole galaxy to play with. For example in the Swords of the Empire books Averland’s Elector was a chaos pawn who led to the capital being corrupted and a massive Empire army led by three special characters being sent to sort it out following the events of the Storm of Chaos which currently are being ret conned in asimilar fashion to the 13th Black Crusade. Then there are Gotrek and Felix. Grey Seer Thanquol is incredibly old, decrepid and nose-less in the current stage of the story, a far cry from the younger version of him self given in the Skaven army book.
you guys defiantly do a history show for warhammer
I like me some APC’s, I do. Treadhead here.
Vietnam war with some cartoon minions? I need to wake up before this week get more awkward than I want to…
Don’t make me start another game system, my wife and kid are going to kill me if I do:/
I like the new lizard men releases, always been one of them armies I like the look of but never got round to collecting
The sound of a good flame thrower – Whoosh!!!
A Warhammer history/story show would be amazing, please do!
I’m currently waiting on a restock of ANZACs at my FLGS and then we’re gonna replay Coral. I was really impressed to see that in the rulebook.
Really looking forwards to see what Dave and Warren have to say about this. thanks guys
Would be willing to help with the warhammer history, even the old versions that they have changed and deleted.
I love the smell of bacon in the morning, now get out there and dice
A Warhammer history/background show sounds like it would be great.
More Dystopian War coverage, also welcome!
Great show guys thanks. Would love to here some more warhammer fantasy stuff I have 4 large armies and play the roleplaying game it’s great fun.
Another great video guys and yes GW and the Imperium continue to build M113 APC for their forces.
Good show guys
i love the smell of napalm in the morning it smells like victory
Great to see Dave on the weekender again.
Nice to see the ANZACs are now included in the Vietnam range.
“Is that a mortar?!”
I love the Weekender, hahaha.
Warren loosing his shit over 15mm rhinos isn’t getting any older. Someone needs to give him some 5-6mm versions, I think he’ll just pass out.
