Community Spotlight: Forbidden Psalm, Towering Terrain & Tiny Sharpe!
March 18, 2026 by crew
Come and join us for another delve into the Projects to find the best of the best from the last week or so. We'll be getting stuck into lots of great-looking miniature wargaming painting and hobbying this week...
...always let us know what YOU have been working on and share it across the site.
Forbidden Psalm by Rhox
We start off this week's Community Spotlight with a look at what Rhox has been doing. Rhox has been venturing into the dark and dangerous world of Forbidden Psalm and creating some weird and wonderful-looking miniatures to use with the game. It thrives on kitbashing and converting and that's what you'll see here in spades.
Forbidden Psalm is one of those games where you create weird and wonderful miniatures based on the grim, metal punk of MORK BORG. With that in mind, you'll get some characters that have some resemblance to classic Fantasy archetypes but for the most part, the miniatures are wacky and a bit off the wall.
The miniatures from Rhox have been made using a mixture of different plastic kits before being tweaked and "fixed" using a copious amount of greenstuff and glue in order to fill in some of the gaps made using the creation process.
I think the various miniatures from this collection look brilliant and very, very MORK BORG in their appearance. They are all very uncanny and certainly draw on that unsettling aesthetic that you get from Forbidden Psalm. I think the painting of the miniatures is also excellent, especially when you see the likes of Marek the Firewizard above. The rune work on the cloak is absolutely amazing.
The full warband for Forbidden Psalm is Azathoth the Possum, Ariana the Saint, Marek the Firewizard (formerly Thomas), Nishet the Distressed and Vlad Bator the Nightchild. An excellent set of miniatures that should get anyone interested in what Forbidden Psalm is all about! I like seeing recognisable and less apparent bitz popping up and trying to place where they have come from!
The Tower of Prin'gl by holly
Next up, the powerhouse of kitbashing, conversion and tinkering is back with another project. holly, much like Rhox above, likes the idea of kitbashing and converting and so wanted to make a wizard's tower for their Fantasy collection. That's where holly had the thought to crack out some bits and bobs from their junk pile and make one from scratch!
Classically, this tower started off as a humble Pringles tube. A few cans, tubes and tubs were then taken and fashioned into the additional bits and pieces that would make up this rickety tower. A few sculpted details were added here and there, like window frames and you'll also notice some stone slabs in places. The majority of the building however, was actually crafted from another number of ingredients, the powerful split pea!
All of this was then taken and, after many hours, was mounted onto the baseboard and the scenic elements that you see above. I am always impressed by holly's builds and this is no different. The amount of detail that has gone into turning what was humble household waste into something fun for the tabletop is great to behold. The tower is also modular to a degree with the top section able to be mounted on top of what you see here in order to make it even more...towering?
The finished look is incredibly impressive and I really like the wonky roof in particular. I think it sells the look of a wizard's tower, mimicking the crook of a wizard's hat. The painting also rocks, especially the glow effects from the windows to show that someone is home, working away on their latest project. A great pair of towers for those looking to add some fun to a Fantasy tabletop.
Praetorian Conversions by thebelon
Last but not least, we stick with conversions and have a look at what thebelon has been doing. Not content in having a traditional Praetorian army for use in Warhammer 40,000, they have been doing some conversions and kitbashes recently in order to personalise the force.
You know I'm a fan of Sharpe and so when I saw this blond fellow pop up, I was immediately locked in. Tiny "Sharpe" here, alongside the rest of the Gaunt's Ghosts crew here for thebelon's army has been made using some of the Sneakfeet components from Wargames Atlantic, as well as elements from Anvil Industry and some spare heads. They will act as Gaunt's Ghosts in games of Warhammer 40,000 but with a suitably unique twist so that they work in thebelon's force.
As well as those brilliant miniatures with some really nice bases, you also have something insanely brilliant. Not content playing with normal Rough Riders, thebelon has done another Praetorian Guard conversion and built some Rogue Riders on the back of glorious birds, the Coral Knights from Oakbound Studio.
This is just one of the miniatures from thebelon's Rough Riders and I'm sure more of them are on the way. This is another Frankenstein's monster creation using a Kislev Horse Archer, a body from Anvil Industries, plus arms from Death Korps Death Riders and the Engineer sprue. A brilliant idea.
