As the Dark Age themed week comes to a conclusion we have fnally The Core to unbox.
The Core are a trademark AI race, who've obviously been rummaging around the scrapyards for spare pieces, and as you can imagine... they've found some remarkable pieces for the front lines, did someone say chainsaws for hands?

Love the look of the Rend! I can picture the horror on the faces of the other Tribes as a Rend gets warmed up!

Love the look of this faction and a very nice starter box. Like the paint jobs of these models too definitely a faction I will seriously consider getting.

The rend looks terrifying for a starter box, I do like the idea of getting a larger model in there. Quite disappointed in the nexus though, I was expecting something a little more mechanical, more along the lines of the rend / menial bots

I liked the nasty gribblies. I really like the scary robots. I particularly like “it has chainsaws for hands” 🙂

The models look like they mean business and can get the job done, especially the Rend however it is the Nexus which interests me.

I think the Core have a very unique look. Not many robot models out there that have a similar design style. Love them!
I was kind of saddened by the TB-13. It could have been in a much more dynamic stance. Instead, it is just standing there. I hope they re-work that sculpture.
Totally with you there. But risk a peek or two at the official Dark Age page, specifically the CORE gallery subsection. You might find there is no need to hope for anything yet to come. Or additional work. 😉
That said I don’t understand this model in the box here.
These are must have must paint minis right across the board cannot see these anywhere but in my collection of minis even if I never play the game (and I will be) just owning certain rangers of minis is a must and as musts go this one is huge.

Think: Kenneth Anger’s Kustom Kar Kommandos video but with Prevailer ladies tending to CORE machines instead. Or the other way around even. ^^

There’s much creepy robotic goodness in this faction, especially when looking at their gallery at the Dark Age website. This wouldn’t be my first choice of faction, but they are cool.
I can think of alot of ways I want to paint there. Too many choices

Lots of big models
The robots do look quite cool.
The TB-13 looks quite tall for something that was supposed to interact with humans.
Since there is so much variety in size in the Dark Age universe I’d like to see a comparison between all the starter box miniatures, just to get a sense of the relative scales.

How do people feel about paint scheme options for the core?
Do you paint them almost derelict with rust?
Do you just paint them and use a sandy weathering technique heavily?
Do you keep them relatively clean but with mismatched painted panel areas, to reflect them being well maintained but the parts coming from other bots that fall in battle?
