The Hex is the root and the beginning of the changes in the world of Wild West Exodus. As the Hex has been driven from world to world by the Order trying to destroy every piece of the Hex, it's now seeking its own families within Earth to become a stronger and better version of itself.
Chris and Stu from Warcradle discuss the backstory and gameplay style of this alien collective, as well as introducing us to a few of the Bosses, Faces and Hands that will be at your disposal.

Are you aware of the Hex?
That large figure is awesome! I would love him just for display on my shelf. As for the game, the Hex are some interesting bad guys. Big bad and can use magic as well. They seem very fordable to play against. I would love to understand how the tainted and mind control mechanic would work within the game.

I like the idea that the Hex doesnt really know its doing bad things and its just trying to excist. Makes me look at the order differently too.
That wendigo (did I speell it right?) is absolutely awesome, i think that even if I dont go for this faction I have to have one of those. That wierd looking medusa (little mermaid) thing is horrid, I couldnt have that in the gouse as it would give me nightmares!!
The taint is an interesting concept as you could take pretty much anything. Im starting to see a bit of a theme with this game now where the factions exist but many overlap slightly. I do like that alot as it gives you more modellig options.

I agree with Justin, not what I was expecting. A clever back story has stopped them becoming wild west chaos figures and made them something different. Evil looking “goodies” could be very interesting. And as you are devouring your opponents you can think to yourself I’m not bad I was just made this way! Can’t wait to see more models for them
Wild West Phoenix Force? Sold! Loving that Wendigo and the hex beasts. Not sure which Boss I’d like though – they all satisfy my need for Gribbly Monsters 😀
As for units coming back – Undead Legionnaires in Warzone. There are some nasty Dark Legion weapons and spells that will do that to your guys!
Oh the Lore for these guys is so rich it has to be fattening! I love it! It is everything I thought Chaos should have been in Warhammer but so much more. And the Hex beasts, I remeber seeing a promo model shown on here a while ago and I absolutly loved it, and seeing these other hex beast designs is a real treat.
Hex and Warrior nation are my top faves at the moment, though I do feel I will be getting pretty much everything! So much lore and detail into each faction, none of them feels tacked on and none of them is what I was expecting, it is so refreshing!
Will be interesting to see how they have developed from the original addition, where they were mentioned a lot but sort of were in the shadows.
The down trodden and dispossed are targetted by the Hex???? Sheez Warzan better hope it doesn’t come knocking on Justin or John’s door. An intersting idea, I don’t think thios is my faction but it does have some appeal….which I wasn’t expecting ….. I don’t think it’s my fsction …. but ………..
Was wondering how they were going to incorporate the Dark Nation into the game, Hex are a very interesting faction.
I know I keep repeating myself, but this game has so many interesting and very varied factions. So many fun and strange fights to be had.
Ugly bunch of freaks aren’t they. Power corrupts… look at most heads of state for proof of that.
Interesting way of showing Hex. But for me they always will be nasty evil twisted creatures. Untill Warrior Nation will take care of them that is. 🙂
The Dark Nation idea had my idea back during the Kickstarter but I could never have imagined how deeply and thoroughly it would be developed as part of “The Hex” easily the most excitingly original idea in gaming.

Love it! I’m totally sold on the Hex. Love the idea of humans corrupting the Hex rather than the other way round. Gives them a pathos you don’t see in other “evil” type factions. I’m in.

The call it Essence. But basically when the prospectors called RJ 1027 Demon Blood, they weren’t far wrong…

Love what they have done with this faction, I am really liking how they have rearranged the faction in this game. Going to have to pick a few of theses minis up just to paint

the best lore of the factions so far I think, especially withe the hex-beast mechanics. I would love to do a carcosa themed force. That wendigo is expensive though!
By far the best lore and background yet for WWX factions. I was being tempted by Outlaws for their varied approach, but now the Hex seem even better.

There is some cool sculpts for this, but I’m not too sure of the lore aspect. I will be interested when the full fluff is delivered.

It’s good to see that every faction has multiple sub-factions with varied play styles
Decent looking faction but not my kind of force, I’m still preferring the Lawmen I think.
Well, they’re damned interesting! Love the Wendigo and that Spider chick/monster is the stuff of nightmares! Think I’m still leaning to the Lawmen or the Warrior Nation thus far but these are interesting!

Those Reavers, and the entire Dark Nation range, are such awesome looking models!
Well that was enlightening! I must say these faction focus videos are really helping navigate the context to the game. I like how the weaknesses of humans are being amplified by the various competing larger forces. The games become minor conflicts in an altogether different war.

Now i did not see that coming, Walks Looking has an evil twin split soul. This would make for an interesting battle report, the fight for good over evil…………………..Thinking on with a little conversion work the two mini`s would look great battling it out as a mini diorama.
Wonder if anyone would be willing to have a go.
Like the Order I hadn’t heard about these much as a playable faction. Love some of what I’m seeing here.
I really like Warcradles take on the background for the Hex, as opposed to the original version of Dark Nation.

I came here for the miniatures but I am staying for the narrative, awesome back story.
The Hex reminds me of the Flood in Halo.
The storytelling in this game is great. I do see a risk that you ‘wanna collect them all’ though with all those cross-over stories between factions.
There could be worse things to complain about. 🙂
Again I hope the fluff will be explored more via novels…there is sooo much good stuff here!!!
Was’nt thinking of the Hex as a faction to collect a small posse and play, having listened to the guys and seen all that artwork, things have changed. I’m leaning towards two, one led by Carcosa and being beast oriented, the other with tainted Walks Looking ( forgotten her Hex name ) with Dark Nation warriors, supported by Lokess and Wendigo 😀 .
Also, please tell me Marie still has her undead snake beasty to call on, that is yet another fine mini.

I started out with Dark Nation under 1st edition, but there’s so much to the Hex I’m thinking I’m going to have to expand beyond that

Didn’t really know how I felt about the fluff changes but I definitely do like what you guys cameup with for the hex. Horror factions are really just up my alley as well, cant wait to see the dark nation models.

I’m with @dignity , I didn’t expect the sort of direction in depth that exists in The Hex. I had thought that the faction was just the magically-juiced subset of the corrupt “chaos” faction of humans. This is much more interesting than that.
Though I do have to say that only the Carcosa appeal to me out of the whole faction.

The Hex is one of the biggest changes to the WWX universe and I love it. I need a Legendary Marie Levaux to go with my normal one! (and her snake)!
so the background fluff on this game is far deeper and more interesting than I knew. Great set of vids!

All of the factions in second edition are soooooo much deeper and fleshed out! It’s really interesting about the hex and how it is humans corrupting themselves that’s causing all the bother! Typical!!
Finally found out what RJ1027 is!!!! YES!!!! It’s like the ecotoplasm from ghostbusters!! Wonder what happens if you sing to it!!

Hopefully those hex beasts get released ASAP, since any tainted unit can spawn one on death. I saw photos of some of the initial 3-d prints at Gen-Con, and they looked awesome!

not the models for me, out of all the factions, these don’t really excite me.
They have a good Malifaux feel to them though.
They do look to have interesting game mechanics too.
