Digital Ticket???
Yes we will do digital Tickets – obviously providing we can get the numbers to proceed 🙂
Just remember @warzan and @avernos No Disintegrations
https://youtu.be/-YaUgn72o3Q
Sounds like a winner to me. If possible, please have digital tickets available
Dammit, Mrs Laughingboy birthday on the 21st so I don’t think even I can get away with that… Digital Ticket??
Oh B-ware Gerry. (German pun: B-Ware is “b grade goods” which usually means “minor dents and optical flaws but technically 100%”)
ALL THE STAR WARS MUST BE MINE!
Who do I need to kill to get there… Why does travelling have to be so bloody expensive?! MONKEYBALLS!
We… I…. IIIIIIII NEED digital ticket (of sorts)
I need to start playing lottery.
Oh… and @warzan
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPdhYQyaU54
😉
[I’m just so excited!]
Maybe a kraut-funder campaign ? 😉
Get @sundancer to OTT for the Starwars weekend ?
Pun of the year!
You could just put cotton wool round the edge of the table and turn it into cloud city
There are only 3 Star Wars movies, what are you talking about?
Very true. I’m assuming you’re talking about the Star Wars Chrismas Special, The Caravan of Courage and The Battle for Endor. 😉
Those are the three best certainly
ooh I’m very tempted by this. Never been to your events but I’m in Ireland over Christmas so it could be done this time.
I am so excited by this idea. Release the tickets immediately I must buy
Ahh I’m a postman so will not get the time off but would be up for a digital ticket and I must say, what a cracking idea, let’s hope it goes ahead.
I refuse to get into another game and this time I really mean it. I have held out on legion for awhile now and the black seas coming out soon that’s it no more.
Ok if you do a digital I will be there with you guys. But I am not happy about it. 🙂
For some places the last postal dates are going to be around 12th December
To the other side of the world (ie NZ and Oz), it’s likely to be the 1st, isn’t it?
Royal Msil says 12th for Australia and New Zealand as well
Definitely interested at the very least in the digital ticket and participating in painting up some clone wars. However uncertain if I could make it out there in person due to the holidays.
In for digital ticket although I will be attending the screening to complete my saga.
I really enjoyed the last Hobby Weekend and I was hoping you would do more. I thought it’d be one a year but I Loooove the possibility of quarterly ones, if you can make it work. However, heading to Ireland for a 3 day weekend is not practical for me, even though I’d love to (Do it at Ben’s house and I could probably make that. How big is his place anyway? How many nerds can he fit in?). I also currently have no interest in Star Wars Legion (That being said, shiny models and a good deal are often my (wallets) bane). I will set myself up with a project and try and work along with you all though.
2 requests:
Liaise with laughingboy and Elessar this time (Assuming they’re streaming along) so there’s a smooth handover and no one misses anything. If you can pump their stream through yours that’d be awesome too.
Put different branded swag in the box this time, if you include any. I’m not sure anyone needs lots of dice bags, but perhaps I’m wrong?
Certainly up for streaming the event again, we loved doing the 40k weekend so we will be there for this.
I’d be up for some Streaming. Had a lot of fun with 40K.
If Phase II Clones are out by then I’ll paint those otherwise I’ll get more Rebels.
These are good points for everyone out in the wild. Now I will feel the pressure to get my army from the last one all done and up to scratch. The FLGS keeps pushing me to start up legion.
Oh, and I think you might need this playing all weekend long, no matter the complaints : https://www.amazon.co.uk/Christmas-Stars-Star-Wars-Album/dp/B0000033VG
Anyone that has attended a Bootcamp, roughly how much does accomodation cost?
Depends on when you book and how early. It would be worth checking air bnb you may snatch a barging because of the season
I would say if you reckon on £60-70 you probably be ok
I’m not able to travel to Colraine, but I’d love to participate online!
That’ll be an event for the single hobbyists on the site lol….
I could be interested in a digi ticket…
Have you pot your foot in it?
Is this a Blasket case?
Have you been absorbed by the Inish-own.
There is a lot of empty space in space. Just saying.
DAMN IT @warzan you are nearly making me upset am not going to the in-laws this year… almost!
if it’s on, I would like to come across the great sea to see you all and play the game of STAR WARS with yee a’ll, (so thats a yes from me).
Would I love to come over for this…. HELL YES!
Can I? HELL NO (my on-call weekend, and theres no way anyone will want to cover xmas weekend!)
🙁
way to close Yule and to and baby due. Also price tag for travel return not including sleep over its about 180 queen heads. how much for ticket?
I don’t really like Star wars … but the 40k weekend was brilliant.
So definitely watching it on-line and getting a digital ticket as an excuse to buy more stuff at your store 😀
Great idea.
Looking forward to whatever vlogs and stuff you’re going to be posting for this event.
There are twenty weekends in December?!
(I’m in North Wales over Xmas this year – could hop on the ferry from Holyhead for a few days if the timing is right…)
Please put up audio download, guys.
First off I would not be able to come across this year to play any games so count me out.
That said I have tried to offer Star Wars Game Days in the US on the Saturday of the movie launch for episodes 7 and 8 and had almost no turn out. Offering a second day of game play the following weekend during episode 8 got a significant turnout. Each time I was offering a selection of games from FFG including miniatures, card, and board games.
As with many I’d be all in for a digital tickets for sure!
I’d love to come along, but its not good timing (even though it is in the school holidays). A digital ticket for this one would be good.
I’d love this!!!!!!!!!!!
Digital ticket for me if its going ahead, I was looking for a reason to get the clone wars box. not any more!
With so many great Legion release between now and Xmas it would be rude not to!
Ohh, I’m not working that weekend. I’ll have to try and get a pass from the long haired general!
I’m keen to get involved with a Digital Ticket and do some more streaming.
@warzan looks like this may even get me to make the trip over need to look in to the date but, I want to attend, I want to take part.. maybe ill even have the chance to bring some goodies. Digital tickets on this sounds a great idea. put it this way in the morning I’m looking at the calendar.
@warzan @avernos
Got to say I’m really ashamed right now. Not making bab puns, like gerry dressing up as a knight of War-Ren……
I’ll just leave now….
If there was a Star Wars hobby christmas weekend then I would hobby along from home. But it will not be Star Wars. I already got too much stuff to model and paint :3 and any hobby weekend would be a perfect excuse to do some hobby ^-^
Date kills it for me. It will be difficult even to watch, not to mention participating.
Being in New Zealand, there’s no way I’d be able to make it. I’d love to follow along though. SW: Legion doesn’t overly appeal to me, but I’ve recently come across a Star Wars “adaptation” of Rangers of Shadow Deep, which feels like the perfect rule set for the kind of Star Wars gaming I’d be interested in. Do OTT ship to New Zealand? 😀
Can you let me know where you got your rangers of shadow deep star wars adaptation? Thanks
There’s a “Rebels of Space Deep” file on the RoSD facebook group. Not sure if I’m allowed / can link it here though. I haven’t had a chance to read through it yet, but it would be a great style of game for the SW universe.
When bedlam went bedlam with a wookie Jedi? sounds great viewing.
Must get the wife to agree to a trip to ireland for Xmas, I’d be in
I would suggest having it before the film comes out. Before Disney and JarJar Abrams destroy the franchise for good.:)
That being said, since Legions hasn’t expanded into the sequel trilogy yet, it might be fun to play and pretend that TFA and TLJ don’t exist.
One day i’ll make it over for a bootcamp/hobby weekend but i work in retail so not allowed holidays in december.
Count me in for a digital ticket! ?? Love Star Wars: Legion
I don’t think I’ll be going to the new movie. Disney has handled the third trilogy badly and insulted the original fan base quite a few times. I had high hopes but the characters are weak and 2 dimensional. Episode Eight was just……….words fail me……..!
But I WILL watch Rogue One, The New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi that weekend.
Don’t forget solo….I does have some good parts and hey…Chewbacca
Well said. Although 2 dimensional might be giving them too much credit. I will be going to see it though, just to see how bad it is. I actually think it will be worse than TLJ and that will be some achievement!
Argh I have my son that weekend… Picking him up on the Friday…
A great idea! I awai what the BoW/OTT team will do with that Archon terrain? Or maybe you just meant that table area will be Star Wars-ified?
It’s a costly time to get flights that time of year, at least from this side of the world.
Suggestion: perhaps make it more of a digital event than a physical one.
This announcment is the first christmas present this year – love it
@avernos I don’t know about you but I’ve booked the three days around The Rise of Skywalkers release off work, as I highly suspect my local cinema will be running The Force Awakens & The Last Jedi as a double-bill before the midnight release of Episode IX….
Otherwise @warzan I’d be up for a digital ticket if offered. Hells, I might just pick up some Legion bits seperately and use the weekend as an excuse to build & paint. Although I could go Legion-adjacent and look at painting the bits for Imperial Assault up…
Properly, properly, properly gutted about this one. There’s no time off allowed at work through december,so i’m unable to get my Star Wars geek on.
Here’s a thought. I’ve just been looking at the product line and I’m not seeing any single faction starter sets. If you do this, perhaps see if you can organise a faction swap before shipping for the digital tickets, where numbers allow. If someone wants all empire and someone wants all rebels and you’re selling 2 player starters as part of the digital ticket, might it be possible for them to coordinate with you and you open their boxes and swap around the models before posting stuff out? I’m not seeing a way you could do just half a box and not deprive someone of key components they would need to play.
This might be heresy, but I’ve just looked through the product line on the FFG website and none of it visually excited me. it was all a little boring. Very disappointing. That being said, I remember loving the AT-ST when John was painting it.
Unfortunately the only practical way to do it would be a core set per player and people could swap half with one another if they were so inclined. Or to keep the cost down, half a core set per player.
I may look at a digital ticket for this event. I would 110% have come over, but in my job, Christmas is our busiest period so no holidays in November/December so a physical visit will not be possible. 🙁
If digital tickets are available, I maybe tempted (although I need to paint my Rebels from the Core box set as I currently play Empire).
? to bad this will be UK/Ireland only. I fully endorse it. On the plus side, I am taking my team at work to Star Wars.
I was looking up flight costs Gatwick to Belfast around those dates are already 170 to 200 return
oh now off work then sound like a winner to me…
I did enjoy the last hobby weekend and I definitely want to see more of them, but I’m going to have to sit this one out. First off, I don’t have any Star Wars mini’s and probably no money to buy some to participate. I will obviously have to see what the digital tickets are going to cost.
With a beard like Gerry’s will we see someone knocking wookie boots?
I’d be interested, subject to the ticket price and finding somewhere to stay.
Count me in 🙂
