Starter sets sound (and look) great but they need to include an enthusiastic friend (an inflatable gamer?) that wants to play the games I’m interested in. Otherwise they just become more “to be painted” and “coulda been great” and “soon to be purged for the next great thing” piles.
Giant Robots, Rubbery Monsters and Dubious Aliens, sounds like fun

Im enjoying the live streams so far, but twitch seems to be having some issues dealing with the load you are putting on it. it keeps freezing on me when watching through the browser. Works better through the app.

I never picked up monster apoc on its first run, but this time it looks like it is gaining momentum! Also, damn those models are looking good.

Once again BoW/OTT have stepped it up again for this years coverage. It’s a shame I couldn’t managed to make it back to UKGE but it’s great to see how this site and community are growing from strength to strength. As for the game it seems like a similar idea to what GKR was, but with a bit better execution.
Great to see the live stuff – was fun seeing you guys working hard in the flesh already.

I always say: if you are a giant monster, you need to visit a large city, primarily for the food, and the sightseeing. 🙂

38 minutes in and I’m stuck at work and already my phone is tormenting me by keep buzzing about live content I can’t watch yet. At least I’m at the show tomorrow. Sunday will have to be a day of frantic catch up, if I can avoid all “real life”.

With so many cool looking models, it’s hard to pick factions.
Monsterapocalypse is probably the game I’ve been more tempted with in the last months. Always lurking the forums to see how people paint their monsters… unique figures and game!

Monsterpocalypse looks very cool. Having seen the minis up close they are really nice. It has a super robot feel fighting Kaiju that everyone should love!

Giant monsters destroying a city what’s not to love
So many good conventions during the summer across the globe, do difficult to attend them all!

I’m very interested in the monstrosities game – I’ve just been building Titanicus scenery and wondering is the scales are similar – if they are I’d end up doing some.sort of home brew mash-up game.

I’m at the expo as well, managed to spot Ben in the entrance crowd, thought I spotted Lloyd but wasn’t sure. Definitely want my hug from you guys :p
Although I was at the expo yesterday, I’m almost tempted to go back and see what else I can pick up as I did miss some stuff yesterday…
Almost tempted… but the train fare of £22 to the admission of £13 means I’d have to spend a lot to justify a second visit and I spent over £200 yesterday.
So… I’ll avoid the apocalypse of a monster sum of money leaving my wallet I think.

The coverage this weekend has been great so far. Also, Warren’s review of the Contrast paints was fantastic: it was great seeing a demonstration of how the paints actually flow and behave on the palette. For someone who considers himself a “non-painter”, he gave one of the best paint reviews I’ve seen!
Thanks for being there for us poor schmos that have to work! The new GW stuff is beautiful and I didn’t even know MonPoc was rereleased. I still have my Hammerklak-Corvorsiak army. I think blind buy killed the first run so I have big hopes for the new edition.

While painting versus random minis is a fair trade off if you hate blind buys like me. My friends still have there prepainted original set. Kinda like the idea of being able to paint the colors you want as well as pick out the minis you want. I think I kinda like the GUARD best over the aliens.
Been meaning to pick up Monsterpocalypse for a while now, looks like a great game. Been loving the live blogs, shame i couldn’t afford to go this year but deffo will attend next year!

I completely missed out on Monsterpocalypse the first time it came out, so it’s been really interesting seeing how this new version is unfolding. Definitely something for me to check out.
Deimos-9 looks real awesome.
I’ve just done a day there with a 2 year old. While the event was great I cannot recommend it for a tired grumpy toddler.
I would love to have terrain pieces that go through stages of building destruction that you swap in, as the buildings get wrecked.

Personally a city wrecker myself. I like the longer, live videos. The intermediary videos between the interviews is nice since it kinda let’s you catch up on videos potentially missed it get familiar with them again.

Anyone have experience with the Monsterpocalypse 2.0 stat cards vs the 1.0 bases filled with symbols? Seems a little less like a chore to memorize but perhaps also limits your opponents ability to glance down and understand the battlefield.
