Dark Age Week – Unboxing The Skarrd
May 5, 2016 by dignity
We're now pledging ourselves towards the cause of the Skarrd in the world of Dark Age and Unboxing some of their warped and twisted creations.
While there are plenty of Cults within the twisted world of the Skarrd these should give you ample possibilities as you ponder on painting.
Follow Dark Age Week
Could you see this being your warband of choice in Dark Age?

First! Tribal Father goes: “Who’s your daddy?”
“And what does he do?”
yes! finally a faction I dont really like 🙂 Wont have to get everything now 🙂
The drawing of the tribal father reminds me of the old Brom’so drawings for the dark sun d&d setting.
Brom’s art was the main inspiration for the game when it first came out, most of the miniatures were sculpted using his art as the concept. This was way before Cool Mini or Not picked up Dark Age.
Nothing better than some big, lumpy masses of trouble!
Probably my least liked faction you guys have shown so far, not sold on either the models or the fluff for these guys
tribal father for the win ,
I think i stick to the other factions. Still need to decide…
This faction is defenitly not one of my favorite but sure are dedly one !!
Are you Skarrd!?
Been interested in maybe starting this game. Because why play a mere FOUR games?
Cant wait to see the new sculpts for the Skaard! 😀
Damn! Coolminiornot and GMG Got me really interested in Dark Age
Not sure about the Skarrd, like the idea of the grafting and the necrotic look. But prefer other factions.
I don’t think these guys are for me, but I like the looks.
Would love to see them in action – see what the Tribal Father can do 🙂
This game takes on a whole new level if creepy
not my favourite out of the factions so far, nice looking minis but the fluff backstory doesn’t resonate like the dragyri or the outcasts backstory with me. If I was given a set i’d say thanks, get them on the table and see how they go but if I was laying down money i’m more inclined towards the dragyri, outcasts or maybe the kukulkani
….LOVE THEM!!!!
This isn’t my kind of faction, but it looks good quality for those who do like the theme.
Cult of Blood sounds intriguing but so does the toxic. hmm…
Love the Nightmare Juggernaut. Wouldn’t mind grafting that into my army.
WOW! i have to get this starter set. i can use them as SKarrd and Diggas in GorkaMorka. i love minis that can crossover to other games Cheer Coolminiornot
I love the fanatical look.
Not my favourite models, though I like the aesthetics of this faction the models are starting to show their age.
These minis give the feel of an apocalyptic horror movie.
Not the kind of Dark Ages I’m used to but these I understand. nothing wrong with a bit of close combat.
Nice! I’m with Justin in that having each model different pulls you into it a lot more.
Pretty much essential for a skirmish level game.
Cool models, but it’s too bad they’re all metal.
Might have to get some of these models. Could be the faction for me…
Not my fave but they are nice
I like the fact that this starter set can be linked with each of the sub factions. With regard to the minis they are not bad looking but I have seen better. Will probably give the Skarrd a miss unfortunately (sorry Skarrd) 🙁
Think: Mad Max’s Humungus and Ironbar, House Harkonnen, and Hellraiser merged together.
With a Samurai sword. Or two.
Dark Age is awesome!
Makes me think of that priest in The DaVinci Code who strapped that crazy chain thing to his leg. Yehu-uu-uu-uh (shivers down spine).
Another great looking faction.
Not my favourite faction, but still great minis
Tribal Father, a little bit of conversion for an epic Wurzel Gummage leader! 😀
the models look decent, nice size and detail. not really sure this is the faction that is for me.
Good looking starter box.
Great sculpts.
Nice that they have given the faction some thought and allowed these to be used with other Skarrd casts, so you can tailor your force once you get more into the game.
Very impressive miniatures. Absolutely beautiful!
The aesthetics of these aren’t really what I would go for but I’m loving all of the others so far!
Yay! Dark Age!
I like when a gaming company looks at there entry level starter boxes and make them good for gameplay and easy for new player to understand. the models look good in this starter box and fun to paint.
Great looking miniatures those. The fact that the starter sets can then be used as a base for another faction is good planning. I can use different sub-factions around this core.
Awesome sauce!
creeeeepyyyyyy
The Tribal Father’s art is one of my favourite Brom pieces…
Indeed not my favourite models from Dark Age
The Skarrd are cool!
These guys look great for Hive Gangers/Cultist.
Loving Dark Age !
This faction is defenitly one of my favorite !!!!!
I canot wait to get this in my hands
The unit stat card design does look solid enough.
Shameless contest post.
Team the buzzsaws up with a sister of charity and turn the unit in to a unit of charities might and make them all crazed cannibals who are even harder than the normal buzzsaws.
Pretty cool sculpts that could find a home in a lot of different games.
Never played the Skarrd but have some of the figures. I need to dig out my old Skarrd mins and see what I can add to my army.
Aaah the skarrd, love em to death! For those interested check out http://www.bromart.com/ or the concept art for Dark Age: Feudal Lords. Its what pulled me into the universe some 20 years ago!
Nice looking minis but I can’t say they are something I would play. Other factions gave me a stronger “I want to play this faction” vibe
Love the posing on the rock! Really badass!
Just ordered a Skarrd and a Brood starter box along with some faction decks. I figure with 2 factions I can try to get someone else to play!
don’t think I be playing this faction, I like other one better
Good idea to have the basic troops so generic they can fit in with any sub-faction. They still show a lot of character.
I think this set is possibly the most classic post-apocalypse design of any we have been shown so far. I love the Skarrd and would go for the Cult of Metamorphosis.
Gribbly!
Not so bad.
Old Brom’s art style minis, hope they will us his work for the resculpt too.
urge to watch hellraiser rising
These guys have a great look to them… I also love the tie in with the Traitor Saint and all the options that brings to the table… The mix of effectively using kids, giant ogre types, and psychotic killers in one army with mechanical bio-engineering as well is just great and makes these guys stand out from your tech-y-factions like Forsaken.
Dark Age is so cool!
This is an interesting faction, but not my cup of tea.
Have to say absolutely loving this feature game week!!! Ive been interested in Dark Age for a few years but just havent had the time to get into a new system with work (that changed today at work :D). This week ive been watching (wow that demo game was unbelievable) and digestign the whole thing, headed over to the Dark Age webiste and downloaded the rules. after todays Core video i decided what the hell and made the plunge on my lunch break, alas the Core boxes were not in stock, so instead i ordered the Skarrd on my lunch break 😀 (only time ive had to myself all week bar jamming these vids in with my coffee before work, sometimes i hate night shift lol) and as luck would have it one of the guys here said he had some stuff at home and setup a game!!! then i find out theres a 2 player starter box coming out!! cant wait to get stuck into this now and thanks to BoW for giving me the kick up the arse i needed 😛
Dark Age looks fun!
This was interesting!
Nope, nice but no. My heart belongs elsewhere.
awesome faction…I have the old faction box but it still holds up…Now lets show some battle reports BoW thats what we all want to see.
Wow! This looks fantastic!
Good quality figures but still not a faction for me…
They look mean enough.
Brother G
It looks interesting!
Dark Age Week was cool!
Wow, awesome!
Dark Age rox!
This was excellent!
I’m absolutely amazed by Dark Age!
