Weekender: Star Wars At Salute & Carnevale Chat!
April 18, 2015 by warzan
We've been working away like mad to get the Star Wars: Assault On Hoth (see the VLOG HERE Backstagers) participation game ready for Salute 2015!
With that in mind we had to sit down with rules maestro Grant Ennis to talk about the plan he's come up with for the game and how it's going to play on the day (including a whole bunch of prizes to give away)!
Carnevale Coming Soon & Win A Bundle!
As well as chatting with Grant, we've had David Esbri in the studio talking about the world of Carnevale and what we can expect to see from the game over the next few months in the wake of their successful Kickstarter.
Don't forget you can also win yourself a Carnevale Bundle by commenting!
Home Raiders Fun
We also got some time to talk about his other game, Home Raiders, where we talk about the various factions that will be in the game to begin with and some of the decisions that went into making the game.
Keep an eye out later on in the show too to see if you were one of the lucky three to win a Warzone: Resurrection Starter Bundle from Prodos Games.
Have a great day!

After a boring night shift at the factory it’s good to have a weekender to watch before sleep.
The past week went by so fast. Thank god as it is WEEEKENDER TIME!!!!!!!
It’s weekender time! Yay!
Weekender time! Happy Saturday to one and all.
Carne-Wow-le!
Thank god it’s the weekend!
Happy Saturday
Woohoo! Weekender!
Good show guys. Love the table and I wish I could get to Salute to see it. I guess I’ll have to settle for the live blog. Thanks for doing the blogs. I’ve enjoyed the ones that have been done so far. Carnivale looks great! I think I’m going pick that up when it’s available. The “Room raiders” game sounds fun.
Breakfast, coffee, a delivered kickstarter and the Weekender!……….life doesn’t get much better than this!!! Happy Saturday
I was actually making Infinity models while watching this and laughed about the blood joke and then the arms fell off the model and I laughed even harder.
Carnevale team are awesome
Nothing to do with wounds, actually. Was made because they needed something to make clear gun sights. Damnedest thing was that it stuck to everything.
Yes stuck everything together including the molds for the lenses… at which point they rethought it’s use as an adhesive. the major drawback as a wound sealer is that it seals in any foreign material such as dirt, dust, mud etc etc
Really looking forward to see more of Room Raiders
Happy weekend all! Such a great week for Star Wars. 2nd trailer of SW:TFA – jawdropping, Battlefront trailer – stunning, X-Wing wave 7 – hubba hubba. And the cherry will be my first trip to Salute and seeing that Hoth table in person (along with the BoW guys of course!)
Happy times indeedy 🙂
I hope for the live Salute log
Once again a great show… looking forward to Salute and seeing the star wars game it looks epic.
Have to say the highlight of today’s show has to be the Home raiders game, I so have to get into that..bring on the kick starter…
I really LOVE the idea of this new game. I can’t wait for this kickstarter to get out, so I can start playing it with my kids. I’ve been waiting for a gateway game to get them started on playing with “daddy’s little toy soldiers” 🙂
The only request I have for the game is: if at all possible, please try not to put English text on the cards. It is the main thing that has stopped me until now. My kids don’t speak English and the fact that they can’t read the game materials really stops me form introducing them to some games.
Your in luck
It’s all icons on the cards 🙂
You just made me a very happy gamer-dad (and my wife very unhappy, since she has to start changing the codes of my credit card again, so I can’t use it 🙂 )
Another great show, managed to watch it before work today. Have a great Saturday everyone
Underwear gnomes, steal your sock, so you only have one of each pair
Those gremlins raided my heart….
Really getting more and more keen on Carnivale.
Love the look of the Gremlins would buy them just to collect
What better way to start the best day of the week.
Carnevale looking good, love David Esbri’s work.
Nice, looking game, let’s hope it comes out soon. As for the connections, 4g mobile devices are cheaper and faster than that, don’t bother with cable lines.
Always enjoy waking up Saturday morning to watch this
Superglue was invented during the Vietnam war as a substance to quickly seal wounds. The idea was to seal a wound quickly so that no infection could enter the wound before the soldier reached the field hospital.
But the superglue substance they use in the hospital is slightly different to the glue we use for modelling. The superglue we buy in the shops has an ingredient that isn’t in the medical glue, which means the store glue can react to the skin and cause it to be irritated. I have used superglue to seal quite a few wounds, including a head wound. So far my shop bought glue hasn’t caused any irritation, yet.
The original cyanoacrylates (the chemical name for the glue) were discovered in 1942 in a search for materials to make clear plastic gun sights during World War II, when a team of scientists headed by Harry Coover Jr. stumbled upon a formulation that stuck to everything that it came in contact with;[2] it was rejected for the application. In 1951 cyanoacrylates were rediscovered by Eastman Kodak researchers Harry Coover Jr. and Fred Joyner, who recognized their true commercial potential; “Eastman #910” (later “Eastman 910”) was the first cyanoacrylate adhesive to be sold, in 1958.
taken from Wikipedia (not incredibly reliable source) but does agree with what I remember already learning.
I stand corrected, a superglue spray was developed and used during the Vietnam war. Mullet steve below is correct in that it. Was first discovered in 1942. It was used by veterinarians before Vietnam to repair tortoise shells.
carnevale looks really interesting. Will try the free rules. Good luck on salut!
Happy Saturday everyone,
and what a nice day it is it’s nice and sunny got some hobby time planned for today then a short week at work and off to London for salute followed by another short week at work so i can play with all my new toys. 🙂
I was disappointed not to be able to pledge more during the campaign, so nice to see an excellent Carnevale product.
Just found bow what an awesome site. Carnevale looks like fun.
Superb site but does make you spend load of cash on new games and minis!
The new Game sounds great – already feel my head swimming with ideas for new Warbands (Sock-Eaters anyone)
Too many games, not enough time. Still, winning Carnevale stuff may encourage me to play… Hint.. Hint…
Need the home raiders got a perfect places in my kids to play
Love the look of the Carnivale stuff
Great show
The Hoth table looks awesome. I wish i was going to salute to see it in person, i hope the live blogging works well so i can see it in action
The Hoth game board looks magnificent – the only ways I can think of bettering it would be to add Rebel transports, Imperial shuttles and the Ion Cannon (betcha that would turn an AT-AT into smoking wreckage in one shot).
Room Raiders looks fantastic!
Always enjoy the Weekender! I do want Home Invaders NOW!! So much potential for fighting through hallways, up staircases etc Love the concept looking forward to a demo of the game play.
Happy Weekend… Even if I do have to work today!
awesome as usual, can’t wait to see you guys again at salute!!
The superglue thing was interesting, I always learn something new from Beasts of War 🙂
thank you for putting on a show to make the weekend start with a bang
I would be keen to do a Terry Pratchett themed force for Home Raiders based on the Truckers books
or the Nac Mac Feegle.. they would be interesting but might be overpowered
Funny I was talking to Dave about the Nac Mac Feegle while he was over… probably not surprising considering I’m wearing a T-Shirt that references Mort in this vid.
Really looking forward to see more of Home Raiders
Still waiting for my Carnavele package, made me even more jealous now. Knowing my luck it will turn up next Saturday whilst I’m at Salute.
DON’T FORGET! Extra-extra-extra batteries for the LED-installations at Salute!
Star Wars: Assault On Hoth board looks really great
Carnevale and the gremlins both look awesome.
Love the look of home raiders, should be a cool game. Missed out on the Carnevale KS, hopefully not on the new one.
I like the repainted miniatures I might dabble,.
Excellant show guys.
Can’t wait for the room/home raiders kickstarter.
Great weekender today, really enjoyed watching all the enthusiasm for all the content covered. I saw the Carnevale Kickstarter and though tempted was over committed at the time to be able to back it and this only made me more tempted to look at in the future. I also love the Home Raiders and that the terrain is your own environment and so you can play anywhere. Brilliant.
I hope all goes well with the Vlog for salute, I am looking forward to watching the Battle of Hoth, May the force be with you. (sorry couldnt resist).
Egyptian Penguins, shut up & take my money.
Home Raiders sounds interesting. It will be easier to collect scenery for that!
Home Raiders looks to be a great game for introducing younger gamers. Both Carnevale and Home Raiders look to have a great blending of story and game play.
i love to win some carnevale minis
Please give us backstagers priority on the hoth game ???! I know that sounds douchey but I want to play so I’m getting entitled in order to make sure i can atleast stand in its vicinity and watch 😛 🙂
From the moment that Room Raiders, or Home raiders was mentioned on BoW those few weeks ago, I have loved the concept, so I’m already able to promise a pledge to that kickstarter whenever it is. I can’t wait for it! I love this game already!
Absolutely smitten with the Home Raiders game, I’ll have to get the funds to back it when it hits Kickstarter
Hi guys,
great show as usual. Wish I could be at Salute this year to play the Battle of Hoth. 🙂
Carnevale looks very interesting.
@warzan, Superglue was invented twice, neither time was for fixing broken soldiers, the first time it was for *breaking* them in the first place- it was supposed to make plastic gun sights in the 40s, but they gave up on it due to a need to get guns made quick and it was basically forgotten. Then in the 50s Kodak found it again and started selling it as an adhesive.
A spray adhesive based on the superglue formula was developed for use in Vietnam to secure wounds in the field as a quick fix before troops were transported to field hospitals in the rear. A version of super glue is still used in the NHS in the UK, but it’s missing the ingredient that is in shop purchased super glue. Though the NHS generally only use it on minor wounds.
Sorry that should state the ingredient that cause skin irritation is missing from medical glue.
Sooooooo…Warren and Lloyd have now, in my estimate, the dream job. Imagine this, an 18Ft battle of Hoth Board you built from your own in devours running at the UKs No 1 gameing event and the 501St show up to add a bit of Whhoooph…Mannnnn, thats my idea of a day at work.
Enjoy.
Absolutely can’t wait for all the new Star Wars stuff, and excited to see what sort of new tabletops it leads to.
I’m here to watch the weekender and win the prices and I’m all out of weekender!
Awsome show 🙂
Happy Weekender everybody ! 🙂
Great show as always.
Room Raiders looks amazing!
So impressed with Home Invaders. In an industry that’s all about imagination, this really is another level! It’s great to see a miniatures game move beyond war. I can’t wait to see more of this.
Dave, Vesper-on – you should be proud!
* Home Radiers. Gah!
Home Raiders looks great- a big fight in a room full of Lego would tick all the boxes.
Or to get super meta- a fight on a wargaming table…
I am such a big fan of Carnevale!!!
Justin’s beard is proud!!!!
You gotta trim them above the lip. Not only to you munch on your hair, you pull it and it hurts!
Starwars game is gonna be epic, pity I wouldn’t be there 🙁
You gotta love Carnevale, fantastic!!
OH MY GOD!!! I cant wait for Home Raiders. I am a farther like warren and want to get my daughter of 3 going on 20 and son of 2 into gaming like me. and the concept of this game is out of this world fun. what are the chances of the rules being a free download for back stagers? David Esbri you are a genius 😀
Those little gremlins are awesome
Looks like there are two more games on my to buy list…
I will be anxiously awaiting the Home Raiders Kickstarter. I love Saturday mornings!
Another great show guys and wish I could make it to Salute!. Also a bit of Carnivale would be cool.
So here we are. My husband and I (both backstagers ) watching the weekender, discussing salute next week, wondering what the shiny syndrome is going to result in !!! And on comes Carnevale… I guess that’s solved that riddle
home raiders is such a fun idea!
As a fairly regular visitor to Venice, the whole idea of the game is interesting. Certainly something to have a close look at! Thanks for this preview of the updated rules and sets.
Great show to build MDF building to
I love the way you guys get so excited and smug when talking about your Hoth creation…and rightly so it looks truly inspiring.
Carnevale is on top of my list of games to start once the painting queue clears.
Can’t wait to meet you boys at salute having been a gaming widow/ mum for the past many years thought I might come to salute this year and meet you in person and see the games in play somewhere other than my dining room table. Love the Star Wars table. See you in a week
Carnevale looks like a lot of fun to paint up.
Line speed – That’s megabits chaps. Not megabytes.
Sorry for excessive pedantry but it hurts when I hear that. 😎
Looking good.
I think i have Gremlins in my pc…
It’s slowly dying on me.
Went all in on the Carnevale kickstarter and I’ve been hanging out for the Home Raiders one since I first heard about it a while ago
I can’t wait for the house raiders kickstarter. The concept sounds like a ton of fun.
I really want this game the idea of playing a miniatures game while the minis are hiding behind my beer sounds awesome.
Happy days it’s the weekend!! Carnivale looks amazing!
best day of the week …..but so is sunday xlbs
Carnivale really looks great, resisting as it another skirmish game, but this makes it a lot harder particularly with the cthulu links. Almost made me want to play civ 5 with Venice again.
Home invaders looks amazing, unfortunately it seems only lords of dust and the borrowers types have found my place. lliputians would be very welcome
Cannot wait for the Home Raiders. Really love Carnivale.
good luck at salute guys, hope it goes well with all the work you’ve put in.
This new game sounds great. Cannot wait till it is out on Kickstarter. What a great way to play with the grandkids.
Good show as always guys
Carnevale seem like another great game to play
My Carnivale stuff still has to arrive and maybe I already need to support the next Vesper-on game. I don’t know who I would play it with, but Home Raiders sounds great. The models look very appealing, especially if they all get that Ghibli vibe as mentioned.
wow that Rooms Invader s look just. Amaizing , +1 for the 1 piece model for the fact that i don’t have a lot of free time to prepare my minis and also a big +1 for the terrain witch is the mess in my own house 😉 i wish i could see more pictures of the different factions but right now the little goblin looks great and i am also interested in the Dust factions as it as been describe ,can wait to see that on kikstarter i also wish that in the rules we could see some cinematic fight like in Carnavale
Loved your work on Preacher!
Can’t wait for Salute now…first stop BoW.
I am looking forward to the room raiders kickstarter, I think my house is the home dimension for the lords of dust.
Another great weekender.
Great episode as always… the Hoth setup is just beautiful.
Home raiders looks awesome.
Just love the concept off it
Home Raiders looks and sounds incredible. I will definitely be backing this one on KS.
Goodday gamers. I can still remember laughing out loud when you played a demo game of carnevale it looks great in the new edition and the Vatican vs the strogoli sound so cool to me. Hope to see them all on my gaming table soon!
I fell in love with the Room Raiders..
That book looks very nice, not to mention the minis. I’m going to have to take another look at Carnivale. And I love the Home Raiders concept!
Thanks for an awsome weekender! Home Raiders will be excellent for family minis gaming.
Carnevale and House Raiders both look fantastic! But the Strigoi look like they would be my faction
Those who are about to Salute dice you
I wanna play on the Hoth table. Perhaps BoW will go to next year’s AdeptiCon with it.
Well, it seems I may well spend more money on kickstarter soon.
I can’t wait to see pictures of the Hoth board!
Great show, the Hoth board is looking really good!
Room Raiders is also looking very interesting, may have to get that one.
Cracking show guys!
Carnevale looks pretty interesting,
Have a nice weekend guys 🙂 and because I live in Venice just hoping to win :p
Room raider kickstarter, count me in!
Gimme the loot!
all I want to know is how many bothans died making that table?
id love to win carnevale as I had to drop out of the kickstarter
CAn’t wait for Home Raiders. Sounds like I good backup game if there are no gaming spaces left in the club. Just move to the next bar, restaurant, frieds home or restroom 🙂
Carnevale is looking great, I love how much detail has been put on the lore of the game!
Looking forward to seeing Hoth in action at Salute next week.
Home raiders looks good although did prefer the room raider name. Great weekender.
As a person with a degree (and job) in Early child development, and a goal to one day start a hobbyshop/gaming club which invites kindergartens during the day for playing games, the room raider game sounds perfect! 😀 Happy weekend guys, can’t wait for tomorrows show 🙂
Man I wish that room raiders thing would hurry up, my ADHD can’t take it much longer
Great weekender as always, I’m seriously considering going next week to Salute
Great show guys! The Hoth table looks AMAZING!!! I can’t wait to see it in person! The Room Raiders game looks like great fun too. What a great concept and a perfect, approachable way to get new people into gaming too. 😀
Another enjoyable show. Good luck in London!
OMG! i can get my niece’s into gaming with home raiders!! love the folk lore aspect!!!
Excellent show as always guys, always lookforward to the weekender.
Great Weekender! We are looking forward to the Room Raiders Kickstarter, this is one game we want to be a part of. Hoth table looks fantastic!
I won the Warzone giveaway ( Kathleen Evans). I didn’t realize that I jumped up and screamed and started to dance…my husband start laughing and pointed and said “You are doing the Happy PJ dance” lol Thanks to all.
Congrats 🙂 +1 for admitting to the PJ dance
Thank you! My husband thought it was a myth….until I did the “jammie” dance.
Great show. Loved the idea behind House Raiders. Sounds like a fun introduction to playing with miniatures for kids and anyone wanting an enjoyable game you can play anywhere. Looking forward to it.
Carnevale also looks interesting. I’ll need to take a look in the archives on here.
Nice looking game !
Whit all this Star Wars, im thinking about playing some old school games like Rouge Squadron, and Shadow of the Empire for my good N64. The tabel looks great, and Home Raiders sounds like a really funny game.
So, Carnevale will be out for retail sales soon? Cool, can’t wait to see more from Vesper On and Home Raiders. Showed this segment to my kids and they are almost as excited about Home Raiders as I am.
Weekender! home raiders is just a brilliant idea, please give us more information as soon as possible! can’t wait to see the video of the ‘tea & biscuit’ battle! i can’t remember how many times i transformed my room into a battle field when i was a boy, its just logical to make a ‘tabletop-game’ that uses your home as a ‘table’.
i couldn’t join the carnevale kickstarter because i was about to relocate but this one i will go all-in!
That Shark is Too Sexy for my Paintjob O.o
Love Carnevale very much and if i manage to infect the victorian steampunk people around here with the miniatures hobby it will surely be a must buy for them.
The Critters Home game is just very cute and cool in many different ways. I might just buy a two starter set just to be able to play anywhere with anyone that seems remotely interested in miniatures and wargames. I know it might end up be too simple compared with a classic skirmish game but is great give someone completely knew a general field of what is this all about. Plus the Gremlins techinicias remind a few of the professors i have in the Technical High School i use to blow up contactors and they always screamed my surname every time lights went off XD
It would not be the weekend without a weekender. Will be watching xlbs tomorrow.
awesome show guys, love the Hoth Board looks amazing, loving Carnivale and the Home Raiders game is just brilliant i love the idea 🙂
Carnevale you say? Bundle you say? OK I say.
looking forward to home raiders
Home raiders looks like something I could play with my daughter.
Great show .. love them Carnevale figs.
Well, if anyone ever says to me GW is expensive, ill just say go to the excel centre and get some internet, £12,000!!!!
My daughter an me would love home raiders. The dust folk have a portal under my bed 🙂
Home raiders is one of the games I don’t have to sell to my wife, she adores the concept. Hope your kickstarter will go as you dream of it!
Holy God in heaven. . . Hoth board = EEEEEPPPPIIIICCCC!!!
Room raiders looks really good.
Yes I Cant wait for Kickstarter from day one I leved the Idea of that game – you cant believe how many adventures I already created for thic game! I will be playing it probably almost every day with ma daughter!! You made my day guys!
Love the board
Just missing Torvel and Dean
Room Raiders really has hit upon something very appealing. I’m looking forward to see the kickstarter.
Can’t wait for the Home Raiders kickstarter. Had to pass on the Carnevale but certainly wouldn’t sneeze at a rulebook and the 2 starters. HR needs a faction that raids a hobbyist’s work desk and gets sauced on paint or figure material; the Lords of Dust sound good, too.
great show guys &the table looks brilliant. the game home raiders looks good.
Comment in.
Great show. Be sad to miss one next week but roll on the 12k blogs 😉
Carnevale looks so pretty. And really the room raiders thing sounds awesome and perfect to play with my daughter. It’s like the tabletop equivalent of skylanders or Disney infinity.
The reason I backed Carnevale initially was because of Wardens enthusiasm for the game, and then found that David runs a great campaign as is a very nice, open, honest guy. Can’t wait for Room Raiders, very original gaming concept using traditional mythical creatures.
I will be at salute 2015,looking at that amazing star wars game!
Carnevale looking good, and a good way to start the weekend !
love the show as always .
It is time for a Carnevale!
At 1.17.50 Mythos – my username – was mentioned (when explaining the background of the Home Invaders) so I believe I have the best claim to claim the awesome Carnevale prize!!
Home Invaders looks like a great game to play with my son – the transparent bases are perfect for 1:1 scale and have what actually sold me on this game and of course easiest terrain ever!!
See you at Salute !!
Great weekender and I’m certainly looking forward to Salute next week and the imminent relaunch of Carnevale
haaaa can’t wait to see the Home Raiders game to take life …
Carnevale looks and sounds amazing. Will download the rules and look at it with great anticipation!
Cult of father Dagon nice!!!!!!
Wow! What a AWESOME Hoth table guys, congrats!! Have a good Salute guys and hope live bloging works!
That hoth table makes me wish I could attend salute. Alas I live in the US and cant make it, the wife said something about it being crazy , too much money, bla bla bla.
Just got my Carnevale Kickstarter, wouldn’t mind “helping” more of my buddies into it.
that board looks sweet
I have to say that the foreign spy mini was outstanding. Props to the painter. Congrats David on a successful campaign. I’m looking forward to the arrival of the carnevale kickstarter package. Enjoy Salute gents.
Sweet!
ooh , star wars !
Carnevale 2E seems interesting in concept.
Can’t wait to back Home Raiders on Kickstarter think it will be another one that empties my wallet. Especially now I’ve seen what I missed out on with Carnevale!
Looks like a sweet game. Time to go Googling.
Carnevale me baby!
Can’t wait to see the hoth board in action ( through the magic of the live blog ).
That table looks soooo good. Great to see a use for the star wars miniatures figure range
Count me in for the home raiders kickstarter
Really looking forward to Room Raiders! Such an awesome and fresh idea
The Hoth table is looking amazing!
hmmm I was excited about getting my Carnevale before but seeing whats in the mail 😀
Home Raiders looks nice for my family 🙂
Another great Weekender! I really don’t envy Grant Ennis trying to balance the game play, rules, and player participation for the Star Wars Hoth board (which is looking super spectacular – totally would love to make something similar on a much smaller scale naturally). I am so looking forward to seeing how people enjoy it at Salute – definitely one of the best ideas from the Beasts of War boys! 🙂
It was really nice to have David Esbri from Vesper-on Games on the Weekender. I haven’t had a chance to see him talk about Carnevale before. I have always thought it looked interesting but seeing the new box sets has got me wondering if I can get my mates to have a go. Great looking hard cover book, looks very well laid out.
Home Raiders does look like light fun – will have to keep an eye out for the kickstarter. BoW Warren, you totally have a way of creating an infectious childlike excitement about games like these. I hope all gamer Dads are like you at home. 😉
Carnivale looks like a great geame – i love the idea of a more cinematic/roleplaying skirmish game, and I’ve been eyeing up the miniatures for a very long time.
and OMG home Raiders looks awesome! Bring on that kickstarter!
Can’t wait to see you guys at Salute!
See you there 🙂
The idea of the game Carnevale as a narrative game looks very interesting. Also there new game with Gremlins invading your home and stealing tech looks fun, if they could only get the rights too the late Sir Terry Pratchett’s Nac Mac Feegle. imagine those drunken blue tattooed kilt wearing head bangers raiding your fridge and drinks cabinet. Keep up the good work lads.
Vamos ala Carnevale !!
Didn’t manage to get in on the carnevale kickstarter, so some free stuff would be awesome!
Love this Home Raiders – hurry up and get it on kickstarter!
Great show guys, the Carnevale book is superb.
A backer of the Carnevale KS, I can’t wait to get my hands on all the cool stuff! And very interested to learn more about the Ottoman faction!
Not so interested in the Home Raiders myself, but it’s a brilliant idea, and if I had kids I’d be all over it. I really hope it does well, and really hope it succeeds in bringing new players into the hobby.
Star Wars looks like a fun game! Carnevale looks great!
Another great weekender, incredibly cool Hoth battle btw!
Great to watch weekender when painting minatures
awesome show guys starwars board looks wicked
Great show, many thanks. Hoth looking VG amazing.
I downloaded the Carnevale rules while I was watching this. Can’t wait to check it out.
Really stoked that my Carnevale stuff is enroute, am extremely curious about the game from vesper on
All kinds of gaming goodness.
Carnavale looks cool
I was really tempted with the carnivale KS but didn’t have the funds at the time, but the Home Raiders game sounds awesome and funny. I am torn between which game would be better
great weekender .
Carenevale – looks like an interesting game indeed.
The setting in Venice and being able to play amongst the canals and use ‘hit and run’ tactics with the cult of dagon is just a wonderful idea. And the whole narrative storytelling opportunity make the game a must-have. Sign me up!
Carnevale looks siiiiiick
Home Raiders sounds a must, love odd little games like that (but I had meant to avoid KS as much as possible).
Looking forward to my Carnevale stuff to arrive.
I earn to win this.
Wish I could have been in on the Carnevale kickstarter….but Home Raiders seems to be the opening I have been looking for
Everything in this episode was just groovy. 🙂
Oh man oh man, gonna be putting my kids in debt when the kickstarter comes out.
So many games, so little time! Also, money. Hmm.
Explained Home Raiders to my five year old daughter. 3 hours later I’m still answering questions. Safe to say we will be backing! She’s obsessed!!!
Carnevale does look amazing, but the Room Invaders….you sir can have my wallet. I can’t wait for the kickstarter! If this does not get my kids into gaming nothing will.
will be looking into this game sometime 🙂 too much distracting atm
I was worried I would have no Wargaming opportunities when I take my wife to Venice later this year for our wedding anniversary. Wouldn’t it be great to play Carnevale in Venice!
The home raider sounds fantastic for me to introduce my little and the wife to gaming. cant wait to see it.
The Vatican figures look good.
Some of those new carnevale miniatures look awesome.
The Hoth table looks fabulous, can’t wait to see it in the flesh.
love the sound of room raiders
Room Raiders is such a cool concept, I want to play hurry up with the kickstarted please
Sadly I will miss salute, but the table is awsome
Love the idea of house raiders.
There must be a race that like to eat only one sock at a time.
Carnevale looks great! I love it when games promote your creativity in playing it.
Your battle for Hoth table looks fantastic, can’t wait to hear how the game goes.
Another great show guys!
Wow, Home Raiders sounds amazing, especially speaking as a father whose kids are increasingly mini-mad. Looking forward to seeing the Kickstarter!
Maybe I should start a family so I can play that gremlin game. 🙂
Didn’t know Carnavale was so close to shipping. I backed it on KS and got the holy order. But love the look his new game. I like the look of the gremelins and mate called dibs on Egyptian penguins
Gorgeous gremlins and other little things infesting our houses 🙂
And beautiful carnivale models. The battle for Hoth looks marvelous too!
Always the best way to end the week
Home Raiders looks like a great way to get into wargaming. Hope it does well if they bring it to kickstarter.
Great show, guys. Love the Hoth table, love Carnevale.
I really hope Carnevale will get some traction in the gaming community.
Well, I’m ready to get myself into a lifetime of debt with the home raider kickstarter!
A cool way to start the week if you havent been able to saw that on saturday.
Not going to say no to some Carnevale minis
Just by the few glimpses of the new Carnevale book given in The Weekender, I’ve got to say it looks very slick and professional. It certainly sets a high standard and probably attracts players that have never thought about getting into the genre before.
The Hoth table looks great as well.
Carnevale has the potential to become my new Nr 1 game. The Minis are stunning and the rules offer so much oppotunities for unforgetable moments (good and bad).
Interesting idea for a game, I look forward to the kickstarter.
Man when I think I can hear my wallet weep. Beautiful Minis.
ooh Carnevale starter sets, nice
Hi, I’m just wondering where are you going to be at Salute? You’re not on the list of games that they have up on the site and I’m just curious where in Salute you’ll be, for planning purposes. ;P
Very cool. =) (I know it’s not the weekend anymore, so I won’t be in the contest, but even if I don’t get to the Weekender on the weekend, I do appreciate the videos.)
I want to win now
Room Raiders looks awesome, now we can all look at mess around the house and say how great the terrain looks!!!
Carnevale, yes please.
Carnevale – Carnivàle (series)
Carnevale looks pretty cool. I’ll check out the rules first. Love the Star Wars game wish I could go it looks epic.
The Star Wars table looks so awesome it makes me want to go jump in the snow.
Room Raiders sounds so delightful. I’d like to run it at a convention and use areas of the con outside the main miniatures area as play spaces.
The carnevale models are gorgeous! Was just wondering are they metal or resin?
Hoth, Carnevale, and Home Raiders are all looking great!
Maybe this has already been pointed out in the comments, but you might want to reconsider the Home Raiders name. I know you’ve already changed it from Room Raiders, but Home Raiders is very reminiscent of the term “home invasion”. Perhaps it’s a term that’s only used in North America, but it’s hard for me to hear “Home Raiders” without thoughts of violent crime popping into my head. This is not something that happened with the name Room Raiders.
omg the net prices are a little high , just use dead daves net 😉 lol
I hate I missed the Carnevale kickstarter. maybe winning this prize will make me feel better 🙂
I played Carnivale at Salute a few years ago, great game.
Great show as always ,next week salute yipee
@warzan – so if you think Justin’s facial growth looks like a beaver, does that mean we can start calling him Justin Beaver?
Could be a good marketing gimmic – use it to pull in lots of new fans – Justin Beaver at Beasts of War. There again do we want thousands of teenage girls showing up at Riverfront, surrounding the building and screaming Justin’s name for hours (I know this happens occasionally but I’m discounting the usual ones who arrive with their angry parents and the PSNI).
great show really enjoy these during finals week
I have to admit I am more interested in Home Raiders then anything. But Carnevale still looks fun.
That home raiders sounds brilliant. Something that works down the club and equally well on the kitchen table (as a kitchen table!), sold 🙂
Home Raiders looks and sounds like an awesome game. I will definately be looking for it whenn it comes to kickstarter.
I can’t wait to get Home Raiders!
I would love to win one of those bundles!
Good Luck at SALUTE, just wish I was going too!
Love this site- so many things for big kids 🙂 Glad my bro showed me it!
Carnavale is looking good but I really like that new idea and those gremlins look pretty!
Got my Carnevale stuff this week and seriously pleased with it. Really looking forward to painting the minis as I’ve been doing a lot of squads lately and it’ll be nice to paint a faction that change up the colour scheme from mini to mini. My only disappointment is that I didn’t order more!
Home Raiders looks excellent as well. Aside from the fact that it’ll be such an easy game to set up for quick gaming nights, I have a ten year old brother that this could very much be a gateway into the hobby. Easy to learn, fun background and minimal start-up costs.
Love the gremlins
It was a good weekender
Don’t know if you’ve chosen a winner for the Carnavale bundle, but I’m commenting in case.
OK so I nearly died when I saw this video (gone for awhile catching up all things BoW). The hot table looks amazing and I will be watching those volts soon.
Quick question, most of the models were donated. Is this using FFGs imperial assault minis or West End? Or did I miss something in the video and 11 pages of comments?
