the only time I’ve stopped playing a game is if I have found a superior ruleset to the one I was playing. When Confrontation changed to prepaints I just kept playing with my metals and among my friends.

I play less Warhammer now as Kings of War does massed battle games in a more appealing way to me, single characters can’t blend an army away so it’s more of a tactical challenge. But even then if I fancy a game I can pull out any army book or edition.

So even though it may get shelved for a while, or even years, no game ever really gets stopped being played as long as the materials are still there.
