I found the information about the Kavallerie Schutzen Regiment in Janusz Ledwoch’s Kawaleria niemiecka, 2002, which describes the German cavalry from the Versailles Treaty till the end of the Second World War. Same source on the 5th Regiment with Ledwoch but also in Marcin Majewski Kawlaria niemiecka 1939-1945 but I won’t bet on my side of the information. I know they were not using horses so your sources might be more accurate.
