@bobcocktayne funnily enough Mike Stackpole was my first real introduction to the lore of Battletech beyond what I gleaned from play Mechwarriors 3 & 4 and the Mechcommander games. Somewhat heretically however it was via Ghost War, first book in the Dark Age setting (and I must be the only person who actually likes that whole post-Jihad setting)…..
