I just use a footstool and a cheap rollaway desk. Sitting on the stool allows me to anchor my wrists to the table (the retractable keyboard) and elbows to my knees, and even the “handle” (some kid’s craft paint containers) of the miniature to the table. My back is still straight. A rollaway desk is useful whenever a miniature falls under it. :/
