I’ve spent all day trying to find a joke about @brennon being behind the times, but I just can’t see one. Maybe someone with a sharper wit might be able to oblige?
I was never a fan of being a “cult member” (there’s a joke in there about us all being a “bunch of cults” too but it’ll take a comedy genius to find it) and there’s a definite change in tone to the show since the self-appointed cult leader abdicated 😉
It’s hard not to mix up format and content – since some content (tabletop game play-throughs and the round-table, show-and-tell-your-projects-this-week, for example) only really worked in the multi-camera-angle studio format and couldn’t be easily replicated over the four-faces-in-a-window format we’ve got used to. And maybe that’s the issue; maybe we’re missing some of the more “exciting” or “interesting” content that can’t be replicated over zoom (since if they could, surely they would have by now?).
It feels like there’s nothing that is currently done over Zoom can’t be done in the studio, but there’s plenty that was done in the studio that just doesn’t quite feel the same in the Zoom format.
I’ve no idea what the Gerry Magic Show is? I tried to teach him how to do a “double-lift” with some playing cards on a visit just before The Event, but I don’t think he was paying attention – so it’s not that….
