I think you got me wrong: the belt drive is all fine. The timing chain inside the engine broke and caused catastrophic engine damage. My brother got a used replacement engine but that came from a chain driven bike. Belt drive itself is nice for a small low power bike like mine. Less maintenance than a chain. So I now need to swap engines and then swap the chain drive stuff from the new engine with with belt drive stuff from the old one *or* I need to replace the rear wheel belt drive parts with chain drive parts. Either way: a fuck ton of work XD (I do enjoy wrenching but it’s too time consuming)
