@evilstu enough of your confusing mind games! 😀
@rayzryr Its an after school type of thing. Maybe check facebook for local lego clubs?

It’s good one of them is keeping the music up. I did the piano as a kid but disliked it. I don’t think I hated the piano itself but I was at an age/stage where I didn’t like to practice and I was never really encouraged at home to do so. Also the teacher was a cow. While I like music and instruments I cannot really play and that time from my youth was… out-putting.

Slow work tonight, I glazed the skin on Grey a couple of time. I’m still not happy. I think that one will be dipped and start over. Drow and Palid I’m ok with and will move them on to the next steps. Spent a fair bit of time looking for colour inspiration. Also spent a bit of time putting together a basic Ork list for Killteam! Going to have my first game Sunday coming.
November 14, 2018 at 3:54 pm #1301775Best of luck with Kill Team!
What kind of inspiration are you looking for for your Dark Elves? What do you want em to look like? Colours to avoid? Etc.

@mage I get what you’re saying about the music. I had a very similar experience with the keyboard/ piano, though I did have a nice teacher.
What I’m really trying to do is try out some different skin tones. These minis are just the testers. When I look online I find good examples of Dark Elves with various skin tones.

Just a few examples.
I remember yeaaaaars ago seeing a really well painted Dark Elf Army in White Dwarf that used a Grey skin tone. But that would’ve been back in the early 2000’s.
So I think I prefer either the grey or palid look, maybe with a few Drow added in. I’ve not got any one game system in mind, but I want to use them wherever- Warhammer Fantasy/ AoS/ Quest/ DnD or any other generic fantasy setting.
November 15, 2018 at 12:17 am #1301971@rayzryr You’ve got Raging Heroes elves for pink and have the Bloodbowl of GW too. Have you taken a looked at Sukubus Studios? The display CG may give you more to consider for your palette.
November 15, 2018 at 4:58 am #1301990@horati0nosebl0wer thanks for the suggestion, I hadn’t seen Sukubus Studios before. They’ve got some shmick looking stuff! But nothing is grabbing me for the colours for what I’m trying to do here. Thanks though! ?

November 15, 2018 at 1:08 pm #1302231November 16, 2018 at 5:35 am #1302559Mornin’ everybody
yesterday evening I spontaneously played a “short” 800 points game of Star Wars Legion. After 4 hours we arrived in round 3. The result at that point was most likely a draw with a slight tendency to a victory of the Imperials (myself).
What I learned in the process:
- If you play on a 6’x4′ mat, then it is essential that you *before* equipping it with terrain stake out the 1′ on the mat that does not play along. Then your long ranged fixed 1.4 laser turret will have something to hit 😉
- If Snowtroopers want to aim *and* shoot, they have to aim first and then move. On the other hand, the order would be “Move, free action, ranged attack, and then aim”.
- Snipers are really effective.
Especially the 1′ cost us unnecessary time and action yesterday and caused a lot of frustration on my opponents side.
Now, after 5 hours of sleep: Coffee, work and then some.
