So I’ve got all the faces and hands, plus the armour and weapons done on about 40 10mm figures today and also added some Coat D’Arms Dark Earth to the bottom of my Terrain stuff. Nothing exciting like a giant rat on a rock to show, but here is a boring picture anyway.

Been listening to an compilation album by Magnum, an English rock band, called The Valley of Tears – The Ballads. Favourite song is this one below… Magnum have some amazing albums, especially On A Storyteller’s Night, but I have been enjoying their softer approach quite a bit while painting recently.
June 23, 2019 at 8:55 pm #1407602@mage the trick with contrast paints really is one big sloppy coat with as big a brush as you can … I’m tempted to say more is better.
If you’re used to painting carefully this really takes a bit of learning.
Heck, even with my limited painting experience I had to unlearn a bit.
I do feel more confident about these paints.@tuffyears those skaven look great and *Eh* ratty. What contrast colour did you use for skin ?
June 23, 2019 at 9:03 pm #1407603@limburger Guilliman Flesh, on a base of white as my wraith bone spray isn’t here yet

@sundancer – 80 + 666 = 746 (666 for making me laugh so much with you videos)
@tuffyears – 200 + 1990 = 2190 (1940 for sharing video of planes, 50 for rat on rock)
@woldenspoons – 90 +10 = 100 (10 for my inability to do maths yesterday and cheating you of 10 points)
@mage – 80 + 140 = 220 (40 for hobby, 50 for good chat, 50 points for Testament even though old school Testament is much better)
@limburger – 301 + 100 = 401 (100 for contrast experiments )
@evilstu – 130 + 50 = 180 (50 for good chat)
@carlospictor – 130 + 200 = 330 (200 as I am being nice so you come back)@tuffyears loved the video of the planes… briefly glimpsed the Red Arrows on Saturday – heard what I thought sounded very loud for a plane in the sky… got louder… went outside to investigate… really loud… couldn’t see anything… suspected that Team Yankee was becoming reality and Russian bombers were coming… started to get quieter… still couldn’t see anything… finally could work out direction of noise… in the south of the sky were the Red Arrows turning and heading off. They had been in Northern Ireland for an air show on the South East coast and must have come inland before heading to an airfield.
June 24, 2019 at 8:21 am #1407651@Robert the arrows were at weston-super-mare yesterday. But cancelled less then 5 minutes into the display due to weather conditions
June 24, 2019 at 10:42 am #1407707@tuffyears that’s a shame. I love watching the Red Arrows. They come to Llandudno reasonably frequently and I try to make sure I watch.
Game went well, fun had etc {spoiler I won} but I will make a better post later. I managed a touch of work on my Stormcast including trying black Templar contrast on leadbelcher. Came out awesome.
June 24, 2019 at 11:11 am #1407735I’ve seen the Red Arrows a couple of times, they are amazing to watch.
