October 16, 2019 at 10:31 pm #1447809I got the “Call to Arms” book. And got the Rick Grimes in riot gear expansion. Really fun basing and painting.

October 17, 2019 at 1:31 am #1447812Finished these two bad boys this week! Haven’t bothered with WiPs for these, they went up fast! Because i’m not sure i am going to paint all the zombies (and the fact that the weather isn’t kind ATM, i.e. can’t prime!), no project log but, i might create one later down the road…

All painted with Army Painter, most of all from the “Zombie Paint Set”.
October 17, 2019 at 3:43 am #1447820Another mini from Grenadier to finish the duo pulled from an ‘ancient cache’ left to me by an older gamer friend.

October 17, 2019 at 10:02 am #1447886More finished minis.
Those are Bones 4 core set (actually I accidentally doubled their number in pledge manager). Anyway, fast and sloppy paintjob, as you’d expect for bones.
One thing (or two), I don’t mind some pin-up elements on my minis, but big breasts and wide “hips” on reptiles are pretty ridiculous, yet the mage/priestess figures are sculpted with those.
October 17, 2019 at 12:31 pm #1447950As a random aside in my paint queue I’ve done Mantics Hellboy, He’s a bit miffed that somethings disturbed his coffee break!

October 17, 2019 at 10:00 pm #1448114Stage one of my two stage painting process completed. Stage one: paint til you think it’s done. Stage two: take a close up photo then go back and fix the hundreds of mistakes you see.
October 18, 2019 at 12:06 am #1448132@TheLynxDefect I know exactly what you mean.
Still a WIP but a couple of mins from Bad Squiddo are what I’m currently working on.

My Deathwing from Dark Vengeance, more abandoned than finished. Painting these guys was a nightmare. First I basecoated them with Zandri Dust, before remembering I wanted to do it with Morghast Bone. Then drybrushing Screaming Skull, then giving them a wash with Nuln Oil that was too heavy and having to drybrush Screaming Skull again. And this is just the parts with bloody bone. I just wanted them done, so they are done. Btw, there’s an extra terminator there because I got one free from… somewhere, somewhen. Thanks to these guys, I think I’ve gotten repainting the Dark Vengeance Marines out of my system. Mostly.

Did you ever have one project that you felt will never be done? I started those early this year about in end of January or February. Admittedly some projects kinda pushed them back (lots of blood red skies for instance) and some work and life events made less time for hobbying. But after nearly 10 months of on and off work, here they finally are! My first squad of blood claws, bringing my space wolves back to their 1500 pts pre release of the last codex.

oh and well….. little video for one that got me real inspired

Real happy to have them done
October 18, 2019 at 7:06 pm #1448377Back in spring, while building my diorama I intended to use it as a backdrop form some action photos of my then future painted minis. Somehow I haven’t done it until a couple of weeks back, when I took some photos of my entry in hobby competition over in Haqqislam briefing room during campaign. Below are the ‘glamour photos’ to show off my work, in case you want to see more close ups you may visit my project here: https://www.beastsofwar.com/project-entry/1448361/
