Spent the last 2 weeks painting up my Starks for the AlwaysWinterGT. Except the front 2 units. It’s amazing how much you can get done with a tournament deadline. https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/1709783/January 26, 2022 at 8:09 pm #1712200Latest mini painted, hopefully back on that horse now, the grey pile had grown embarrassingly large

THROUGH THE FIRE WE RIDE
*****
Jeeeeeeez these tanks took a loooooong time. But ya know what I’m going to stop saying that from now on. This hobby ain’t about time limits for me it’s about relaxation & doing as much as I can on stuff when I have chance. I have the pressure of work, a one year old & all kinds of stuff going on in my life so why on earth i’d make the one none screen based part of my existence a job is beyond me. Anyway here’s to completing stuff in your own time & smashing it outta the park. I’m damn chuffed with how these two Rhinos came out. They’re gonna be taking to the battlefield very soon at Warhammer world against some Deathguard.
As you guys have probably seen I’ve been writing & creating guides now for every single one of my models but have realised it’s turning this beloved hobby into something I don’t want it to be. Painting is my meditation & by adding more screen time to describe steps I’m not enjoying it as much. From now on I’m going to be sharing the finished models only on my project blog. Mainly for the reason above but also because every single recipe that’s involved in every single miniature has been covered in previous posts.
Much Love & enjoy my wild Rhinoceroses. YES!

In between times, some terrain for Stargrave/ Kill Team etc.
February 12, 2022 at 10:09 pm #1715776February 15, 2022 at 4:53 am #1716329Sally 4th started today their “Goblin Civil War” miniatures and ruleset KS, inspired by the Spanish Civil War (!), so I figure I’d post some of their “old school” Cafe Americana miniatures, based on various movies you can ask your grandpa about, that I just painted.
Eyes were “painted” with a 005 pen, and I fiddled with blacklining either with Secret Weapons Miniatures grey Concrete, or a 005 pen. Wasn’t sure if I should have used sidewalk or flooring for the bases, so left them black.
February 15, 2022 at 6:35 am #1716332February 15, 2022 at 7:00 pm #1716573Recently I was dusting off my painting stuff and I found a bottle of red “Aquafine watercolor ink.” Don’t remember getting this, but I can guess why I did. Red is a color I like to see but hate to paint. It always comes out as reddish-black. So I dug up an old Reaper mini, stripped him in methylated spirits, and tried to test the ink on him. I airbrushed the back of his cape white, then applied two, maybe three layers of the watercolor ink.

Well, at least it isn’t reddish black. although it is rather flat. Guess I should have base coated him the cape in grey and drybrush white before applying the ink.
