It’s been great to check out your coverage of ‘Nam. Our club has been taking it’s first steps into Flames of War, and though we’ve trudged the muddy trails of the Eastern Front this particular theater has our interest.
This has helped build momentum to a new game for our club, which we usually all jump into at once. Thanks for showing off some of the cool stuff Battlefront has produced, and putting together some top notch vids.
Tanks followed by more tanks, what you can’t shoot, you roll over 🙂
It’s the booby traps that won the war. Tanks? That puts NV on a some what level playing field with the US. Bad move, David.
Who cares, win, lose, tanks are cool.
Warren has no idea what he’s getting into.
Thanks for a great week with many good shows and great unboxings. Keep up the good work guys!
@dave i think i would go the same way like your army list 🙂
Iam not surprised about warrens list, but his face was quite funny to look at as you told him your options. I think it will be a very interesting game as far i can see it and i hope it will be soon 😉
And about the last idea OMG i cant believe it Warren does it again. 😉 But on a second view it could be a cool idea. Iam looking forward to it too. Oh man i couldnt beliefe it that i would ever say such a thing 😉
warren the idea of starship trooper is great but think of the size scale. the bugs are like 4/5 times the size so you could use the dreadball bug team or evan your tyranids.
Read a little history, man. Like “Vietnam-Inside Story of the Guerilla War”. The US, never had a chance. Is Warren putting together an Air Cav Space Wolves army.?
Bombing just made the Vietnamese mad.
I can’t wait to see a painted miniature game of this.
Epic Tyranids. Or plastic roaches.
Actually, Starship Troopers, did have Air Mobile Cav.
Read a little history, man. Like “Vietnam-Inside Story of the Guerilla War”, by Wilfred G. Burchett.
anzacs – you missed a great opportunity to field an interesting army. centurions! (and not those ‘interesting’ gw ones
It’s good to see FoW gaining a lot more traction. Hopefully it can continue to pick up in the US.
Medivac meets minefield? Could be interesting. I still can’t decide between the 1st Cav, the PAVN or the ANZACs with their Centurions and modded M113s.
I’m with ya on that one. Still completely undecided on what I would want to play.
Completely loving Dave’s list. I might make a few slightly different choices but it does seem pretty versatile.

you want bugs? got you covered there
also
http://khurasanminiatures.tripod.com/15mmscifi.html
scroll down to space demons
Khurasan also do Sharkorosaruses in 15mm
nice video guys, me and some friends have been playing a game we made up using FOW base rules, but using mini’s from heavy gear, ground force games and even GW, with a little bit of remodeling we got the look we wanted, for sci fi 15mm check out ground zero games and HOF 15mm
An excellent way to end the week and with a rather unexpected ending.
Awesome!
As always another great video
I don’t know much about the other than what I’ve seen this week, but I gotta say that while Warren’s list is impressive, I prefer the style of Dave’s.
Starship Troopers…what I want is a 28mm Blue Gender wargame!
Looks like a fun game. I wish someone around here played it.
This looks awesome. I have a soft spot for helicopters…
yay free stuff
Warren and Dave, which war do you like the best WWII or Vietnam? Also Warren your idea for a starship troopers game sounds interesting; would love to see a video of a game.
YOu know what I was going to answer this right away but then I thought long and hard…
If it was just out of those two it would be WW2…
But Korea and maybe the Arab Israeli wars are probably in front of that too
Great video!
Gonna build an armylist too. But furst i need to get me hands on the book
As we’re at the end of Nam week, I’d like to say: thanks, BoW!
List building is all well, but I would’ve preferred a bit more historical background. Please, Dave, keep dropping in, and Warren might finally succumb to the appeal of history. 😉
Khurasan miniatures do starship troopers in 15mm and the bugs (stixx). Check out their page you may recognise some other stuff on there like the crabmen from fallout.
Great week looking forward to your next tour of duty.
I have to say that I wasn’t interested in modern conflict, as far as miniature game goes, but you guys sold me completely. Even the scale is awesome, I just need to know what do we need to start playing. Is there a starter box or any minimal requirement in order to play. Well done again guys!
Really liked this weeks topic, keep it up guys!
Great work on the Nam Week, BoW been really enjoyable.
ToD has should to have some interesting mechanics to the game, would really like to see a game played out to get an full impact of the game mechanics. The options in the armies look like they can throw spanners in the works for the opponent at any time in the game. Which I think adds extra spice to the game and less chesse that a lot of rule sets seem to want to have in army lists etc.
Like to see how a mechanised force plays out, compared to an air cavalry force in the game for the US army, as well as a ANZAC force.
Really like the idea of the Starship trooper take on the using the models and rules, looking forward to that idea grow.
Nice video guys. Enjoyed NAM week very much!
It has been a great week. Thanks to all participants for making it happen.
nooo… end of naam week will be the end of Dave on BoW video ??? noooo…
I relly engoy this man whit his bowtie^^
I didn’t know I was being replaced….
Warren your crazy, but actually I like your style. The M113 kit is great and I can just see Starship Troopers working.
It needs helicopters and more helicopters and even more helicopters.
Don’t worry Warren. You’re not alone that reacts like this to that scene with letters.
These rules seem to represent the differences in US and Vietnamese foeces very well – not just in equipment but also organisation, motivation and tactics.
Good finish for Nam-Week. Looking forward to the battle. For those 15mm Bugs. You could try to utilize “Dropzone Commander” minis. I think they have a bug army. They are 10mm, but maybe there are some BIG bugs, which will fit 15mm.
Anyone else think this is when Dave will start winning the battles? lol
And I agree with you Warren this has been the best themed week, been watching movies, listening to music, and excited to play this.
This game looks great, hopefully I can get my buddy to play too.
BUUUGGGGSSSS. dit you do your parts. I’m loving it
Thanks for ‘Nam Week. It’s gonna cost me….
Been looking forward to this video
If only I had more money and more free time to play a new game.
Great week, so much more to the game than I initial thought, but I do it suffers as I have yet to find anyone who wants to play the PANV
Thanks for the great introduction. It certainly got me interested in this game.
I love the Starship Troopers insanity. I’m sure there are some 15mm bug collections out there. But you might only have to look at the Tyranid Gaunts box. I used this (and some wire and green stuff) to create an entire Battleflet Gothic fleet. Cutting it up in even smaller bits can certainly make you some nice looking 15mm scale Warrior and ‘Tank’ bugs.
would be great to see FoW do a proper modern warfare setting, bang up to date with all the forces of the major powers
been loving the coverage all week, and to focus on lists is a welcome turn – I’m dazzled by the quality of produce, the rules look great, great setting but in terms of getting to grips with competitive gaming in this sort of era it remains a little daunting… Guess I’ll just have to buy EVERYTHING and keep playing around till I get it right hahaha thank you beasts of war! I’m blaming you for my imminent bankruptcy!
I really like your way to break the broducts. your unboxing and reviewing videos about products have been huge help for me.
This really makes me want to play Nam! “Me love you long time”
Gotta say ive loved all of the content I have seen you guys put out on this its even making me consider getting into it myself
You gotta have the surf board and the little speakers! Good stuff guys.
These men came out of hiding to watch BoW ‘Nam Week
http://news.sky.com/story/1126600/vietnam-jungle-men-found-hiding-from-war
Blue gender yeah! would get into that in a heart beat
End of a great week, and I’m looking forward to more Flames of War stuff on BoW. Both of these lists seem like they’d be very interesting to play with and against.
Caviar!
Some foolish person has commented on the wrong video….
would love to see you get the starship trooper-thing going. In 15mm that doesn’t seem to exist, I know in 28mm it exists (similarity). But then again.. meave it to Warren to take facts tot Scifi… 🙂
As for an army, I like Daves more than I like Warrens.. It would be my first pick anyhow…
Thx again for the vids.. And keep them coming….
If Warren doesn’t bare Wagner over a boombox when he brings his Air Cav onto the board, I’ll be severely disappointed.
This might actually be the gaming period that convinces my 66 year-old retired dad, a Vietnam veteran, to try wargaming. GREAT week of coverage!
Great as usual but I think warren should be the pavn with that haircut ! ! Did the wife do it 🙂 and Dave with his tash has got to be the G.i. 🙂
OK I’m sold on PAVN
you apes want to life for ever??????
US army only because they have tanks
Cool week!!!! Warren should resist the temptation of converting historical miniatures to SF and just take the plunge into history…… Join the Dark Side of the Force!!!!!!!
Got into a lot of sticky situations with the PVA Army…
Do you need a Yank’s perspective for your blog? Happy to volunteer some videos!
I love these videos…I just need to stop watching them. I always end up spending more money after watching one.
Well, great week, if I win an Army it will be even better.
Gentlemen,
Just found your FOW FTW stuff. Very nice.
If you are movie buffs you might want to check out “Kelly’s Heroes.” One of the greatest tanker movies ever made. Its a comedy and Clint Eastwood is the straight man.
JW
Great way to end a great week. Well done guys.
would have liked too see a pavn v aussie segment
There must be some kind of way out of here…
Great sounding armies with a nice contrast in style, I can’t wait to see a game in fow FTW.
bring on the bugs, Your gamers need you ….!
Bugs, but you are using the same rule set. So in otherwords it’s just a bunch of proxies.
Best theme week yet guys. Thoroughly enjoyed it all. Especially nice touch with the music. And i liked the multiple unboxings spread over the week.
I’m going on a copy+paste mission now to maybe win an army. If not, i’ll be buying one anyway.
How many helicopters? Blimey.
Don’t get me wrong, a ton of helicopters is awesome – exactly the first thing you think of when you think of Vietnam – but that’s quite a pile of unpainted plastic/metal/resin for someone starting out.
Looking forwards to seeing this battle
Copy+paste mission successful!
Fingers crossed!
Must resist buying Nam stuff at FLGS today, although, even if i did win, there’s no harm in having extras is there? 🙂
Epic armies with good choices
I would totally have to go for Anzac come on you get centurions.
Loved this week. Hoping or more like it.
Excellent video guys, cant wait to see and hear your progress in building your armies. Gonna put my cash on David fro the win in the first game.
The bug project sounds sweet as gotta love star ship troopers, Thank you for a great week of videos and coverage!
Air cav OP… until the air part get shot down
A batrep of these two forces much like your D-Day game would be awesome to watch.
Hard to choose between getting more FOW WWII stuff, or picking up some of those sweet ‘nam models!
15 chopers!!
I like that!!
Can’t wait to start playing this game.
Great Video guys, you seem to have similar problems as me when I write a list, I want it all!
Ben
BoW have this amazing ability to make me want to jump feet first into any game they cover. My wallet hates you, BoW!
Great list Warren.
thanks guys really enjoyed the week great stuff
this week a been great for the Flames of War Vietnam all i can say is good morning vietnam !!
Fab as good as the wife in a new flimsy nighty Brilliant and enticing, almost as both interests and activities are going to cost me something as a result… FOW FTW could prove £325 at the moment, oh well overtime…roll on my 12.
Why not get F O W to put out a Nam Starter kit, similar to the WW2 one, two types, Specs v local vc , with M113’s, and local viet loaded with rpg’s, this would be the cheaper, then the more advanced, mobile Aussie or us inf, with light armour facing the bt 40 and pt 76 VC, common lads Does Charlie own the night?, or does he not?.
Tour of Duty…
Was undecided whether to start a Viet Cong army but this has persuaded me!
I’ve gotta get my hands on some FoW
I cannot help but drool over Werren’s AirCav list, but how many helis doe he have, 15, 20? And they’re like $25 each! That’s a hefty price for a “starter” army, no? Maybe I’ll look into FoW: WWII first, or wait until the next installment, what… FoW: Chechnya?
Nice wrap to the end of the week. You could do some of the larger bugs as tanks stats.
really great week guys, thoroughly enjoyed it thanks.
‘Nam week was great.
I’d like to see a Korean version of the game
I don’t care what they say, my NVA are getting modeled with chainswords. Yes, 28mm chainswords.
Looks cool
The vids made me think about playing vietnam
This BRILLIANT video got me into Historical Wargaming!
