I think it's probably crunch time for us here at Beasts of War when it comes to the Human Sphere N3 Book. We're now going to be testing out two forces from Infinity against each other with Killian and Carlos at the helm.

The Onyx force is quite the hammer. Loved the little holo projector tricks from Carlos.
Never switch dice in the middle of a game. That’s exactly what the dice gods want. Best just to suffer through it rather than add to their impish mirth. Nice battle.

300 point boxes sound awesome! I hope they include tokens and scenery like usariadna and ice storm. It made it really easy to get started with my friends when we had ready made tokens and easy to set up terrain!

Awesome way to spend a Friday! Good idea on the battle to wrap up N3 week. Also appreciate the look at Tohaa vs. Onyx to show off some of the new rules. Holoprojectors – pretty sweet. I’m also digging the symbiomates.

What a start, Carlos putting Killian on the back foot from the of. Then thing`s just got worse for Killian, the dice did`t perform until Carlos kindly passed some other`s to him. Then we started to see a come back, at which point i thought the Onyx where gonna wipe the floor with the Tohaa…………………….
Now of to watch part two to see if Killian and the Onyx, can come out on top and pull out the big surprise win……………………….Good luck Killian.

Table looks great. What is that terrain?
The buildings are mostly Bandua Wargames, I believe. The central Objective Room is by Customeeple, and the beauuuuutiful walkways are from the MicroArtStudio Kickstarter. They should be coming out later this year, hopefully.

I think Killian could have kept his Fireteam going with the EVO Hacking Device, but they must have forgot. Then again, he was mixing Super Jumps and normal movement with the Fireteam, so maybe it’s Karma? 😀

I don’t think I would have put the two remotes in a separate group unsupported. Seems a bit of a waste to boost the HMG, but then have too few orders to make good use of it.

Ahh… Combined Army is next on my list, so it’s nice to see them in action.
Pity that it won’t be for a couple of years at this rate – HSN3 changes are going to keep me busy with Yu Jing and ISS for a while.
Both Tohaa and ONYX are amazing armies. To be honest, I used to be a Sygmaa, but fortunately Tohaa gave me a second chance to rejoin the society by serving in penal regiment.
My girlfriend loves the sybiotes and she wants me to play the faction now T-T.
My money is on Bostria, between Tohaa tricks and those designer skills, he’s got it in the bag. (though I secretly root for my own faction of Combined XD)

I’m glad you guys have done these kind of battle reports with Carlos. They really help me get a feel for the game and even show how the rules work better than reading seems to. I guess its just one of those games where you gotta play to truly understand how the rules work.

Man, Killian has the same kind of luck with D20’s that I used to have playing with D6’s. My luck changed playing different games with different type of dice…..just saying 😉

Looking at that table theres an article I’d like to see BoW make. How to make your first infinity table without breaking the bank or spending months putting stuff together.
I’m a warmachine player and we do not use much terrain. We certainly don’t use buildings. I’d like to get in to infinity (And other similar level games (ie Batman) but before I can play a game it appears I would have to buy, assemble and paint a lot of buildings. I work 5 days a week for a pittance. I’m betting that table would take up a months pay and I would not be able to eat that month. I also wouldn’t have the time to assemble and paint it in that time. I recently assembled and painted all the deadzone starter box terrain. I had already cut it out, trimmed and washed. Had I not had a 4 day weekend I would never have gotten it done, and even then I followed a messy speed painting guide I found online. It barely fills a 2 foot x 2 foot board, and could really do with a little more for that space. If I buy in to a new game I want to be able to play it soon after I spend. I don’t want to have to invest £100s and months of assembly before I can even play my first game to see if I even like it.
So I would love to see a shopping guide on assembling your first table that prioritises in order:
A: Low cost
B: Low prep time
C: Does it provide an effective playing space to give you a feel for the game? (ie variable height terrain therefore better than just stacks of books, and not making the table look copy and pasted every 6 inches)
D: Reusability, ie is it fragile, will it be useful in other games, will every match with this terrain feel the same etc
I’d be happy to invest more later on better terrain, and spend time building terrain while I have a playing space but filling a 4×4 table with terrain is a scary prospect in terms of money and assembly time before I can even play.
Not a big fan of soldier cam and sorry Justin you keep slowing the report down for me.

Suggestion for future videos. Actually seeing the dice rolls is far less important than seeing the placement of the miniatures.
Something tells me switching dice won’t help Killian for long.

Yea, I was looking for that E-DRONE Hacker on their army site until I realized that it’s shiny new. Then I find Carlos saying just that in this video as well. I’m reading up on the pdf rules for Infinity and I have to say it’s so refreshing to have other interesting things to do in a tabletop game besides just laying things to waste. So well done.

The battle report is very helpful for getting a feel for the game. I used to enjoy Necromunda and this looks to a similar, but more complex game.
Burst 4 HMG! Ouch! Although the Tohaa are very tough with that symbiote armor, I never played against Tohaa so that’s all new to me.
I have been playing Vanilla CA for over a year now, but Onyx has me excited to try a sectorial. Keep the great coverage coming.

Normally I can’t watch battle reports, watching other people just roll dice doesn’t appeal. However I think the Infinity rules actually make an interesting watch because both players are constantly making decisions.

the Tohaa with the new symbios are awesome, and the changes to the symbiont armour in regards to fire might mean the Gorgos is more valid now
