Dave’s Plan – A Dropfleet/Dropzone Commander Linked Game!

We're catching up with Dave as he talks through his plans for a linked game of Dropfleet and Dropzone Commander. We will have four boards of Dropfleet battling against one big board of Dropzone Commander run by Rasmus and Rob of the Drop Beasts!

This right here is what I thought of the moment they first talked of dropfleet and how it included planetary bombardment

Linked campaigns, I’m kind of skeptical, but I’d love for it to work!

My club/store has been interested in running a combined dropfleet / dropzone campaign. We’ve got a few fowk who own the games but none of us are hugely experienced with it or have played it much.

I’m kinda hoping that if the ‘Hawk Talon’ programme evolves a bit, my store/club could get in contact with one of them to help them run it.

Unleash hell.
That’s an order!

Those yellow PHR ships of Justin’s should make easy targets right?

Now this is gamer gaming at its best. So much will be going on and a whole movie of cinematic moments. Please record it so we can watch it back!

A line from Gladiator comes to mind: ‘At my signal, unleash Hell.’

Hoping to get a Dropzone/Fleet crossover game going at Leprecon in Dublin next year, so I’m keeping notes here…

Nuke them from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.

What happens if one side decides to nuke the city from orbit? (as the rules are in the DFC book for real)

“Sorry guys, but rules are rules, we have to set your table on fire.”

This is sort of why I am never as excited as other people for these sorts of cross over games. I like the idea of campaigns using both systems – so a successful dropfleet game leads to a scenario using dropzone or vice versa. Say an extraction mission for ground forces ahead of an enemy fleet arriving … just something that’s all about driving a narrative
