@davebpg had some aircraft. Both British and German. Used them in some of the battles. 🙂

The campaign map is so good , James must be working hard to keep track of it all

Actually, it hasnt been too bad. It’s just when running the campaign AND playing tabletop games that it gets very hectic, with lots of breaks in gameplay for notes, tracking players and battles, filming, and updates. Special thanks to all my opponents for being so patient. 🙂

You will have to tell us how you made the board and arrows.

@glitchingout – Printed on cardstock from basic Photoshop images. Assembled with kneaded eraser (like blue tack, but not quite as strong and leaves no discoloration). The arrows are just cut from blue and red poster board.

I always like the idea of 15 foot mega games, but all too often the games don’t really interact with each other. I hope this is more exciting.

Interesting that the Grants are are the MVPs in day one’s games. I must reconsider my perspectives on them now.

Honestly, @irontom , Grants are a hard tank to build into a game. For instance, FoW 4 gives them a 4+ to get hit, while the Germans hit a Crusader on a 3+. So why is a Crusader harder to hit than a Grant that is 12-14 feet tall and moves slower? The behavior, training, and doctrine of the crews is given as the reason, and I get that.

However, in the game’s defense, the Grant than has a rather poor morale rating, so the designers seem to have baked some vulnerability back into the Grant. Also, the Grant and the Crusader have the same armor even through historically the Grant’s armor was thicker (and both tanks were partially riveted rather than welded, I think). So it looks like, again, the designers were trying to work some of the Grant’s realistic and historical vulnerabilities.

But the fact that the Grant’s main gun, the hull-sponson mounted 75mm, doesn’t really suffer any realistic penalties for its bizarre mounting, I think makes the Grant just a touch OP, at least for its point cost. This is just my opinion at the moment. Yes, the Grant’s 75mm is “forward facing,” but the forward armor arc in FoW is very, VERY broad, and you get to move before you attack in this game, so not once have I seen a Grant not be able to take a shot because its hull-mounted gun was out of arc.

Also, the very low position of the gun (as opposed to the top of the tank in a turret) might add a penalty.

IMHO, I would have either moved the +1 penalty to hit OFF the turret 37mm and put it on the 75mm. Or added +1 point to the Grant’s cost. Very very MINOR adjustments.
