The Army Painter guys sit down and go through some tips and tricks for assembling your RuneWars miniatures.
Considering that they are made of a soft plastic you have to use some techniques that might not be similar to what you've been doing in the past.
This includes looking at what you need to do when it comes to cleaning up mould lines and more.
That nail tool idea is brilliant! I’m going to have to find me one of those!

Never thought about using a nail buffer for minis, will have to get one and give it a go, really hate the prep stage with plastic minis I’m always getting my fingers in the way!
nice tool @nakchak Tim but can you clean with it lines deep inside model, can you reach it there?

I find Jonas’s method of slicing the mold lines of very effective for my minis from board games.
Wow umm yeah it is a really good idea but it does kind of have that Hermione’s Wand kind of effect.
I’ve never worked with soft plastic minis, so we’ll see how different it is from working on hard plastic when I get my set.
Never seen that used for mold lines either. Makes sense though.
That’s a nice little tool but I wonder how well it would do on a more flowy surface like a cloak or pants. Can’t stand leaving any mould line myself so it takes me an age to prep a model for assembly.
Well the buffing tip is sponge backed done a good job on irregular surfaces 🙂 its good for roughing the majority of lines off and will work wonders on vehicles

I love the idea of a hobby weekend like this. Not sure I’d enjoy the pressure to “be done” within a certain time frame. It would start to feel too much like work.

I prefer the old way, cutting away the mould line with a sharpie
So you columour the moldlines in with a marker pen??

Interesting tip about prioritising, and only removing visible mould lines.
I dislike mold lines very much. The Nail tool looks like a great remedy for many plastics.
You guys really need to learn to raid your lady’s beauty box. Emery boards and nail tools are wonderful things. The foam emery boards are the best thing going for resin mold lines.
I hate mouldline and try to be as precise as possible and then…….
After halfway painting…… Oh no, I spot a mouldline. Too late 🙁
What a great idea with the nail buffer. Looking on amazon (I searched for “electric manicure” there were various options, most of were a tenner or some even less. Cheap enough to give it a try certainly.
