Wargaming with Lego Tanks Gaming Table

We just had to step in with the guys from the Royal Air Force crew and talk about the brilliant toy box game they have set up.

This is brilliant fun and JUST what you want from a big convention like this and their participation games.

Looks kinda cool; I reckon you could probably do something similar using the What a Tanker rules too

Looks like a great way to get the kiddies into wargaming; they’ll have plenty of Lego lying around to make tanks and terrain from and the playmats (last time I saw one of those must have been back in infants school, lol), and the rules sound simple/straight forward enough to be a soft intro into gaming. 🙂

One question I do have though is are the tanks pre-set, or are there rules for building your own? Because if not, I think it’s missing out on one of the strengths of using Lego/legolike sets in that it’s so easy to build and customise your own designs, and that encorporating that would open up avenues of creativity and imagination.

This also has a plus in that if you accidentally step on a tank it’s easy to put back together; downside is you’ll have stepped on Lego (not s big deal if wearing shoes/slippers, but in socks or barefoot…). ;p

now that’s a great use for a kid’s town mat,

you need to get Warren to meet it on BoW

Whoop, I’ve made it onto a BoW vlog. Ok, it was the back of my T-shirt, but it has my name and everything. I shall be signing autographs at Bury Wargamers next meet.
