April 4, 2025 by brennon
The Army Painter are producing a selection of new historically themed paint sets for you to use when working on your World War II miniatures. The Army Painter Historical collection is going to be arriving in May but you might be able to get your hands on a few early at Salute.
World War II - American Paint Set // The Army Painter
The collection will come with a variety of authentic colours based on historical sources. You can get your hands on a selection of acrylic Fanatic paints from The Army Painter, twenty in each set, with appropriate names that should help you work out when and how to use them on your miniatures.

World War II - German Paint Set // The Army Painter
The current set of three covers the Americans, British and the Germans and the sets seem like a great way for you to get accurate colours to help you work on your new armies for the likes of Bolt Action, Chain Of Command, Flames Of War and V For Victory, to name just a few.
All of these boxed sets are going to be coming very soon but North Star Military Figures noted that you are going to be able to get some of these sets from Dave Thomas (Stand TA08) or Great Escape Games (Stand TA12) next week.
Do you think these sets look like a good shout for World War II painting?

More paint! 🎨
And I just bought some air paints for my Afrika Korps…
No Soviets ?
Western mindset
Looking at the back of the German box, they seem a little bright. Don’t think they’re going to replace my Vallejo paints. That being said, another shade of Feldgrau could be handy for variety.
“that’s the wrong green” in a box edition! XD

I am actively switching from Vallejo to AK 3rd Gen – the main reason is that the AK will airbrush without any thinner.
Don’t think I need another line, but I’m sure lots will use these!
