Black Library Reveal The Scouring Series For The Horus Heresy

With The Horus Heresy book series brought to a close recently, Black Library has been working on its next big multi-novel series. The Scouring is on the horizon and will begin later this year with the first book in the series, Ashes of the Imperium, by Chris Wraight.

The Warmaster has been slain and The Emperor now sits silent. Traitor Legions flee Terra into the depths of space and the Loyalists are hungry for vengeance. The Great Crusade, the project that The Emperor dreamed of, has been shattered and this new series will explore what happened next.

This new epic saga will follow three different perspectives: the Loyalists, the Traitors and the rest of humanity who has seen what chaos has been sown thanks to the Legions. With The Scouring, we'll learn more about what happened to the remaining Primarchs on both sides and much more besides.

New characters to be included in the series include "bitter Iron Warrior Ortag Theokon, zealous Word Bearer Adraharsis and Chief Librarian of the Ultramarines, Prayto". Ashes of the Imperium will be out later this year, kicking off another era of bookshelf-breaking books.
