The team from Warcradle Studios has been working on something a bit different. Mix Up Fairy Tales is coming soon, a new family card game which is all about telling shared stories.

In Mix Up Fairy Tales, you work together to create a shared story. The game starts with a well-known tale that you then "mix up" as you start to replace characters and events from other stories to create a new classic. For example...

...Puss in Boots could dance with the Prince...

…Goldilocks might huff and puff and blow down houses…

...or The Three Pigs may fight a Giant in the Sky!

Sounds like this could be a fun way to change up your bedtime story moments with the kids. I am always a big fan of storytelling games that allow you to work together cooperatively to build a world.

There are eight fairy tales included as part of the set, which can be used to create a hilarious new story. Each fairy tale has been brought to life with beautiful, classic, illustrations that have come from the British Library's collection.

The game can be played with between two and six players and it suits ages eight and up. Your average games are going to last around fifteen minutes, so you've got time to delve back in and tell quite a few stories during an evening's play session.

Watch out for Mix Up Fairy Tales coming out in April this year!
