Piano Wargames Release First 28mm Napoleonic Plastic Set!
February 2, 2026 by brennon
Piano Wargames has worked with Wargames Atlantic to release their first set of 28mm plastic Napoleonic miniatures. Possibly one of the best (if not THE best) Napoleonic ranges out there can now be snapped up in plastic! See what you make of these French Infantry in Greatcoats.
French Infantry in Greatcoats 1804-1814 // Piano Wargames
This set features French Infantry in their Greatcoats, issued for the first time at the Camps of Boulogne. This set allows you to build an entire battalion of French Napoleonic infantry, including four skirmishers and command options. This means that you can build these soldiers as either Line Infantry, Light Infantry or the Young Guard. You get plenty of options with this set.

As well as getting access to the shakos, you can also give your soldiers bicornes. The Battalion can also be built in march attack, high porte or shoulder arms poses so you can really play around with whatever works for you. It's a dynamic set of miniatures for skirmish and rank-and-file games.
French Infantry in Greatcoats - Regiment // Piano Wargames
Piano Wargames does an astoundingly good job with the quality and detail of their miniatures and these are no different. You can either dive in and get yourself this plastic set or you can buy sprues individually if you prefer.

The rest of the range by Piano Wargames is currently available in metal or as STL files. You could find plenty of figures within their range for a variety of conflicts during the Napoleonic era and have a lot of fun! There is already a rather extensive wishlist from people in both the Piano Wargames and Wargames Atlantic communities for more plastic sets like these.
3 Box Deal // Piano Wargames
You can pick up the plastics from Wargames Atlantic or Piano Wargames, but if you fancy starting a French Armee then over on the Piano Wargames webstore, they have an exclusive: when you buy three boxes, you also receive a white-metal mounted officer to point your columns of attack in the right directions. Vive L'Empereur!
What do you make of the French Infantry in Greatcoats and what else would you love to see transition into plastic?

They are amazing. Hope Piano Wargames has great success with these and more follow along.
Absolutely loving these! Have been building WGA Medievals for the last few weeks and am really loving their kits. Would defo pick their Napoleonics as well as no doubt they will be as much of a joy to build.
Very tempted to grab a box. Really great inclusion of alternative heads to stretch the time period further as well.
These look really good, even in a seriously crowded market. The bicornes are a nice touch, for sure.
