Purgatory Miniatures Rock Out With New Keysha Model
December 5, 2015 by brennon
Purgatory Miniatures have teamed up with Kaha sculptor Facange Didier to create some of their range of models. Here is the work that has gone into make one of them, Keysha, who comes complete with a keytar...
As you can see she is rocking out in her pose and I get flashes of the 70's and 80's from these models. It's certainly interesting to see what weird and wonderful characters are coming to this Biblically inspired game.
What do you think of their work so far?

I like the minis. I like the concept. I like the world.
Their last email newsletter mentioned limited edition stat cards and my interest evaporated.
I have both Death and St. Peter already and the quality is perfect so this lady will be a day one buy for me.
And I really like how this whole project is being handled. The newsletters are a great idea and go into proper detail about what goes on in Purgatory HQ. The last newsletter went so far as to lay out their plans right up to mid 2017.
And I’m not bothered about the talk of Limited Edition stat cards. So far the only difference they’ve mentioned has been a gold border instead of a black one. If it’s just alternate art/colouring then it has no impact on the game. And they mightn’t even be the “Gifts of the Gods” cards that are used in the main game, they could be the playing cards like the ones we’ve received in our miniature packs for the separate mini game.
And if there are Limited Edition cards with different abilities/stats, both players draw from the same deck so there’s no advantage to collecting them other than to boost the game as a whole.
If it’s just presentation that’s limited edition, that’s fine. It’s “I have this powerful thing that’s no longer available, sucks to be you” I have a problem with.
That I can agree with. I can remember playing some of the old 40K CCGs and I had a few cards that had come as part of Dawn of War collector’s editions. They were OP as Hell and could swing games. And faction specific!
But with both players drawing from the same deck in Purgatory, if there’s Limited Edition cards in there that are extra powerful (if they’re actually being made) then you’ve as much chance of being clobbered with them as you have of using them.
My only worry is the talk of the cards turning up in packs like MTG. I shudder when I think of how much money I spent on that when I was a collector!
I would like these minis whether I play the game or not. I just need enough of an excuse. Hmmm…. I need new Monopoly figures. problem solved.
Hi Guys.
As you will see from the tag, I’m behind Purgatory. So firstly thanks for the feedback. I thought I’d hop on to give you some direct feedback.
We are about you guys and your interests are a core driver for us. So in response to the Ltd ed comment. No, we don’t want power cards creeping in. The Ltd edition is purely a different border so you might lean across the table and say “wow, you got a gold border”… that’s pretty much it.
We can echo the sentiment with gift of the gods cards. Because we have built an in game mechanic that randomly determines which deck is used it means that people who have lower income or more commitments get a chance to experience cards they choose not to collect or don’t have the opportunity to. It balances the game for all people.
We have applied this approach in all things and for example where there is a limited edition model and its evebt only we will sell it online for the days of the show, so that people who can’t attend but like our range don’t miss out.
We truly want to be equal opportunities.
In thanks for the feedback here is a little something extra for you.
We will be running a competition for gifts of the gods cards. The idea is that you will be able to submit your own suggestion for the cards. If it is chosen, not only will it feature in our game but you will get a one off only print of that card in a different format as our way of saying thank you for supporting us. Only you and the Purgatory staff will get this.
It won’t be more or less powerful, it will just be unique to you.
Watch out for this in the coming weeks and months and thank you once again for all of your support and feedback.
