Flight Base

Time for something simple from an idea I had and that was the flight base, so the components required are:

8.0mm x 1000mm Clear Acrylic Rod
2mm x 55mm MDF Base
10mm Magnet
Old CD

First, this to do is to glue the MDF base and a Magnet to the CD

Next is to glue the magnet to a length of the Clear Acrylic Rod (the height of the flying base is up to you)

The just slot the flying stand onto the base and final step weight the base down I have added some washers.

Using some white modeling clay (I used DAZ) which is air drying to cover the base. I used DAZ instead of milliput or green stuff due to the surface area to cover.

Now painting and texture to the base. First up was to prime the base with some Army Painter Skelton Bone (remember to cover the magnet up), then to add some texture to the base I cover the base in some Games Workshop texture paints. I used mainly Armageddon Dust and once it was dry and then some Agrellan Earth. Once it all dried I sprayed again with Skelton Bone.
