Dropfleet meets dropzone
Beginnings
One of the things I love about dropfleet is how ot could feed into dropzone and the narrative possibilities of it. I could the starter set for both dropfleet and dropzone and went about assembling both sets.
I got the dropfleet first so I already had the UCM painted and ready.
UCM fleetI like the look of the metallic ships I’ve seen elsewhere but I wanted something different so went with white and blue (white is the worst to paint).
For the scourge I based them on a picture I found of a beetle. I wanted to make them a bit .ore colourful than the standard paintjob. I’ve done a little of this but still need to paint the green stripe
Current starlet of the scourgeHere are the dropzone minis they haven’t even been based yet but once I’ve done it I can get to matching the colour scheme. Made a few mistakes with the build of the UCM but nothing too obvious.

I never got into Dropzone. When they announced Dropzone 2.0 I was ready to finally buy into it. Then things changed for Hawk…….
Maybe some day.
The guys at ttcombat hired the lead designer and he is working on something. I think its the retaking of earth so it may be worth holding off until that is released. You can probably get these boxes cheap because of all this going on. Worth a look? Also the starter set has a cool mat and terrain which is worth adding to your collection. Just my two cents

He wasn’t so much hired as came as a package deal with his games. Sadly Hawk had collapsed under the weight of a successfully funded kickstarter and weren’t able to keep the wheels turning.
Dropzone & Dropfleet are great games though, the Battle for Earth book is not far off now by the looks of things and will be Dropzone v2 plus expansion content for Dropfleet. Expectation is a fairly major errata/update for Dropfleet is upon us with that.
