2mm Strength & Honour
Roman Auxiliaries - painting guide
Still waiting for Royal Mail to deliver my interchangeable label making kit so can’t do the basing yet. In the meantime this is how I paint Auxiliary infantry. I decided on an 8 cohort layout:
Then the main colour. This is the brightest blue I’ve got. As before, slop it on and cover everything.
Flesh drybrush with a narrower brush to target legs on all sides, faces across the top and arms on the right side of each block.
Armour. Heavy drybrush mostly focusing on the top.
Shields – a thick line across the front and dabs along the left hand side.
Finally the raw umber wash to shade and help combine the look.
That is very neat, I had no idea 3d print files for this scale were available. Had a look and it’s tempting, for that price you can’t go wrong. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. As an absolute novice with the resin printer I’ve been very pleased with the results from the Project Wargaming files and they are very good value for sure.
2mm? You mad man! I’m assuming they’re all still on their scaffold? I’m quite interested to see what this looks like on a table, or at least table ready.
Well spotted – they are still on their supporting scaffolds. I’ve got the first couple based up and will put an update on when I’ve got a minute.
