here are some photos that I found on line of the Mendoza Codex. This codex was made by Spanish explorers that documented the Aztecs military and way of life . Only a small portion but probably the most historical accurate documents of the Aztecs empire that was made by Europeans .

This great to see as I have just put some of these guys together and was looking for good references.
The best part is that Mendoza was there , this is what he saw and documented as a conquistador . If you do a Google search you might find a few more pages . I have seen the Mendoza Codex books on eBay but they are pricey for me.
