So you may have seen the Star Wars: Legion mat from FFG. The one with the AT-AT traces on it... those gave me an idea...

Day 1 - deep cuts!
So this is as straight forward as it gets. I got the measurements of the foot imprint from my FLGS and made a template. That was transfered to 5mm foamcore and I went cutting away.
After that I slapped some filler on it. At this point I realized using cardboard as base… is a bad idea… it really warped but since it’s an imprint on terrain I’m not to worried. Last step for tonight: Sand and grit. Now to let everything dry.
Day 2 - some paint and washes
After everything dried a coat of paint
After that dried some other colours, a bit of wash and a big coat of thinned down PVA. Now waiting again for drying… watching paint dry. XD
Day 3 - light drybrushing
So after the protective coat has dried I did a drybrush with a light grey. (Sidenote: I mix the colours up as I go from simple colours out of the DIY store. I couldn’t give you any names ;))
And there will be a little detail I’m still working on… can you spot it?
Day 4 - stick it
So after the poor fellow had his coat dried, I painted him up a bit… and them stomped him into the ground. He shouldn’t have tripped 😉
Also added some sand for texture… now to let it all dry again and then paint the gory bits.
Any tips on how to do really messy blood and entrails? 😉
Day 5 - blending in
Breathe. Relax. Become one with your surrounding.
Day 6 - I don't feel so good...
OK so I didn’t go on full gore but a little bit of red wash seemed right… it blends some of the hard edges together. I call this one done.
