Night Vault - part 2
Picking up from the last post, I finished up the main body of the vault and it’s details.
Adding details
Finished sculpting
Night Vault - part 1
Sculpting the first arch.
- Roll out the sculpting material – Magic Sculpt
- Shape the material
- Smooth – I used cooking spray, which for magic sculpt doesn’t have subtractive properties.
- Carve out the stone pattern.
Second Arch. I followed the same steps as the first arch but when it came to making the pattern I used a bone technique.
Final backing piece.
The skulls came from a press mold I made from a GW model, and the pattern is a mixture of tribals and swirls. Which I think gives a decent impression of swirling magic.
That’s enough for now, I’ll post the next part as I get further with the back of the piece.
Skaven Bell
Skaven bell – Sculpted primarily using magic sculpt. I chopped up a political campaign sign which is the white parts; effectively it’s plasticard.
Finished bell sculpture.
Cave Tile
Mollog’s Mob stalagmites. Of the pieces I’ve made this one came together the easiest.
Chaos Horn
The concept for this took awhile I didn’t have a strong idea of what the horn’s base would look like. I more or less just cobbled it together as I went along.
Second batch
Second batch of terrain.
In this case I just used terrain I already had.
