Five Horses blended
Here’s how the five of them look so far.
I went back over the bledns a little more. Mixing slight variations of the colours and adding them on very thinly. Practicing with wet blending as well can fell messy at times though when it sits and dries for a bit the results look great.
Searching for a Theme
I’ve been playing High Elves for many a year and I never had the right paint theme in mind. I’ve tried several but never finished any of them. None of them did the job well enough.
Launching into the Lumineth I knew I had to nail something down or I’ll be pushing around greys for another decade. That prompted me to dig out my colouring pencils and start from there first.
Deep blue through to a sea foam green with soft yellow and browns thrown in. Would it work? Not sure. Also the armour I went against using metallics, just raise the difficulty level that much higher, ’cause I’m crazy that way.
I don’t have a good enough picture of it but I tested the blue to green out on the cloak of an old Phoenix Guard model. It worked well so I set about trying it on a Lumineth spearman
A little of the progress there. The finished, yet baseless so far, model was shown before.
To show the process a bit more, I’ve done the same method on some Vanari Dawnriders

A few years dusty
It started here, a few years ago now. I did have more progress pictures taken, though they must’ve gone missing. Maybe buried under dust somewhere as well.
This is where it currently stands.
The idea was for a forgotten elf temple, slowly becoming overgrown with vines and wild foliage. The water portion of the project will spill across the tiles and other pieces of coloured glass. The ledges sticking out beneath each of the statues will have water spilling out into the pool below.
Atop the mirrored circle, will sit the centrepiece of the terrain, a repurposed resin kit from an old computer game.
I don’t like the default clothing on her, a little too anime, so I’m trying my hand at sculpting some clothing. A fun challenge if not frustrating at times. Hence the dust build up maybe? haha
I’ll come back to this after the first painting component is done. The second join challenge, painting up some Lumineth.
