About the Project
Had an urge to take part in the Spring Clean Challenge and settled on the first thing I saw sitting unused. So, Dungeon Saga Origins it is. It's been sat for nearly two and a half years, not even played once, it is time!

Starting with a shamble
The first adventure starts with the undead and the easiest place to begin are the unarmoured zombies. There are only six, very little detail and no need to be tidy.
Why have I done two skin tones? Because I can, and it adds some variety. I’m a fan of variety.
For those who are interested here is what I used:
Bald zombie:
- 1/1 Ashen Stone & Peachy Flesh Speed Paints
Hair zombie:
- 1/1 Ochre Clay & Peachy Flesh Speed Paints
Both over a black prime and off-white dry brush base.
The bases came out better than I expected, considering I was just throwing paint at them:
- Basecoat – Game Color Stonewall Grey
- Stipple two or three patches – Game Color Sombre Grey
- Add two or three thick uneven lines – 1/1 Game color Charcoal & Stonewall Grey
- Uneven wash – Game Wash Sepia
- 2x uneven washes – Game Wash Black
Six down, twenty one undead to go. Next up is nine skelibobs.
Will there be a next time? Stay tuned!
The small, unassuming hill I need to climb
Once again I’m jumping into a Spring Clean Challenge and once again I’m using it as a kick in the derrière to get some mini painting done. What’s different this time? I hear you say. Well, the first thing I’m not going to do is spend too much time trying to paint everything to the best of my ability. There are two reasons for this:
- My expectations are higher than my ability.
- I lose interest far too easily.
I know it’s nothing new, but to help, minions are getting the speed paint treatment and unique characters will have a little more tlc., and once I start feeling that pang of boredom I’ll switch to scenery.
Will I endure? Who knows? Will I even make it past the first paint job? Can’t say? Nevertheless I shall attempt it.
After all that, what have I got to face.
Three trays of minis and a box full of scenery, to some it doesn’t look like much and I’d be inclined to agree, but I’ve never been known to finish a single trays worth. I’m a completionist when it comes to collecting – painting and playing, not so much. Let the trials begin.
