Nordic Inspired Trudvang Comes To Dragonbane RPG

Free League Publishing has announced that they're going to be coming to Kickstarter with their own take on the Nordic-inspired Trudvang using their Fantasy roleplaying system, Dragonbane.

Trudvang is set amongst a land of shadowed woods and mists where dreadful beasts stalk through the wilderness and unsung heroes stand against them. Trudvang is distinct and unique but with links to Nordic mythology that inform its art and design.

There will be a number of books on offer, starting with the World Book, which contains a deep dive into the history of Trudvang alongside its peoples and regions. This will feature amazing artwork by the likes of Paul Bonner and Alvaro Tapia covering the various legions like the Stormlands, Westmark, Soj, the Great Ice Plains and beyond.

There will also be the Book of Heroes, which contains the professions, skills, heroic abilities and magic of the champions of Trudvang. This, alongside Jorgi's Bestiary, gives you the core volumes you'll need for playing or planning your games set in the world of Trudvang.

Face the likes of the braskelwurm, draugr, hrimtursir and yggdras. All of these creatures have been adapted to suit the Dragonbane rules, which makes for some fearsome and deadly monsters! Lastly, we have The Black Sun, which is a four-part epic campaign set in the world of Trudvang, revised and will be available in English for the first time!

All of this should give you another good inroad into the world of Trudvang, using a great set of mechanics tied to the Dragonbane rules. You will need the Dragonbane Core Set or the separate Rulebook to make use of these Trudvang books.

The Kickstarter for Dragonbane Trudvang is going to be coming in early 2026 and will feature options to get the books in both Swedish and English. This looks like another gorgeous set of roleplaying books that I'll pick up but never get to play...
