Welcome to Infinity Week on Beasts of War! As with all of our games we love playing on special tables and for 3rd Edition we thought we'd pull out all the stops once again.
Terrain for this table was provided by Antenocitis Workshop, Warsenal and K&M Trees!
Join us as we show off all the cool bits and pieces that make this one of the best gaming tables we've ever had on the show!

Wish you guys would stop telling me to go check them out though! Again I’ve just spent 15 minutes trying to hunt them down on Antenocitis site only to discover lower down the comments here that it’s to be part of an upcoming kickstarter!

A different look to the usual Infinity table and absolutely stunning. Has a Avatar Pandora kind of feel to it.

Loving all these infinity terrain companies keep pumping out I have some Bandua stuff that are just awesome too, so far nothing has been too ridiculously priced either definitely going to have another look at Antenocitis again though really liked the Haqqislam themed buildings they did but I don’t play ’em (yet) so no need for them (yet).

@Warren and @lloyd what size trees are they from K&M? 175mm or 125mm? would they be able to be used in other systems such as BA?

Phew! I only placed an order with AW just a couple of days ago and for a moment I thought I had placed my order too early (because I really want a few of these buildings).. but then I remembered that – as @dean6345 said – these will be part of the Antenocitis Workshop kickstarter which is supposed to be this month 😀
The table looks great; in that it is not so much innovative, but bucking the trend of out-doing everything… keeping it simple. The trees make the setting. remove the buildings and an ECW battle could take place there.
The concept of ready made buildings “dropped in a clearing”….. classic and commonsense. As mentioned, the table makes itself……
Can`t wait for the antenocitis kickstarter, those buildings look incredible even without painting them.

I love the fact that the Antenocitis buildings look like they do straight from the box; hopefully that is the start of more things to come.
That said, I’m not a fan of buildings with in-door bits. It seems there is a fair bit of verticallity in Infinity; you’re going to want troops on the top of roofs which in turn means there’s going to be a fair bit of faff when it comes to dealing with things that are both on a roof and in the building itself (in addition to things like los / measuring ranges / not actually seeing your own models on the tabletop).
Don’t get me wrong, the buildings are lovely, I’m just not sure how much “use” I’d get out of the in-door bits, which in turn is a slight shame.
Also, how easy what the Antenocitis stuff to set up? (wouldn’t mind seeing an article on the various buildings you can get from companies; eg; the Spartan gaming stuff looks good, but can’t seem to find many reviews of the ease of putting it altogether).
Anyway, looking forward to the rest of the week.

Table looks great. The trees round the outside really do set the scene without impacting gameplay too much.

I wish I had more space at home to keep terrain pieces like that. Unfortunately my apartment is already overflowing with stuff.
Pretty awesome table. The trees realy add to the atmosphere. they´ll be a hassle when playing though. Well, one can´t have it all. ^^ The Antenociti buildings are okay, I´d like to see more interesting shapes in the future though.
Please come to my house an build me a table. My wife makes a cracking roast dinner… it’s got crispy potato’s and everything… you may even get sponge and custard. Any chance of some old Hobby Lab content being made free?

The Nomads are up for a challenge if using the suggested extended Icestorm lists vs pan0 though.

The treeline looks very good. How firmly is it stuck to the board? I’m a bit worried you might keep knocking trees off the edge while playing.

Great table, though not quite the urban environment I’m generally used to with Infinity.
That forrest clearing set up could be used for anything. Forest ruins, forest temple, forest base camp. Very nice layout guys.

Not only are the Infinity models beautiful, but the high terrain requirements for the game mean that you play with beautiful miniatures on interesting tables and that just looks better. Honestly, I’m getting sick of miniature games where the system encourages you to play on a lawn. If the terrain doesn’t meaningfully change from game to game, how will the tactics change?
Two tables, two batreps. I will not accept anything else (great job btw, saturating the edges with trees was a great idea!).
It seems those buildings aren’t available from AW yet.
Everytime I see such gorgeous MDF buildings, I want to build a table of my own. Sadly I lack the space to actually do it. 🙁

I completely agree @warzan; without the trees, it’s just another wargame table (albeit with awesome terrain). But that dense ring of trees makes it more than a war game table, it makes it research station in the midst of a Forrest moon – now, as long as a Nomad strike team can take down the aleph sheild generator, it’ll be ok! And that’s more than just a reference, it’s a statement that setting can make story too!
Also, no one ever uses the terrain advantages, let the jungle fighters race up the sides! Acc.. Aconite… A-con-Tay-cement-o! (Or some such)

Mighty awesome in deed. I’ve been avoiding Infinity for a while now but there’s no better time to jump in than a new edition of the game… meanwhile I guess I’ll have to start drawing some cad buildings to throw into the laser cutter.

The table looks cool, but i do have a concern about the massive lanes of fire that i’m seeing.
Those white houses ones are quite mass effectish. Sort of reminds me of the mission where you first encounter husks.

That is a nice table, but my local play group noticed VERY quickly that clutter terrain (crates/cars/etc) and diagonal ‘roads’ were necessary. With 90 degree to table edge roads, you get the fun shooting gallery effect of deployment zone to deployment zone with snipers, HMG, and Heavy Rockets. While clutter terrain turned the roadways, parking lots, etc. into areas that could be traversed, without the clutter they were death traps.

I have loads of deadzone terrain I can use for Infinity but still going to get some of the new Antenocites buildings they are just too awsome

Thats a great use of the differing terrain sets. I have to say that choosing which terrain has been whats been holding me back.
You mention that the table doesn’t have trees in places that would mess with the game mechanics however the game does have rules to deal with difficult terrain. That said, I too like the simplicity of “clean” sci-fi themed tables.
Very impressed with that setup. As nice as the pre coloured stuff is I feel it really does need some paint.

I love the look of a jungle themed table, it makes a nice change from urban environments.
I really like the look of that Antenocitis terrain. I don’t own any yet and I think that’s the direction I’m going to go with my first purchases, along with some scatter terrain from somewhere.
Antenociti has always done great stuff, but it’s so expensive to get shipped to the USA. If only there was a distributor on this side of the Atlantic.

But… I was disappointed in the timing and position of the banners, you guys can do better than this. Opening with the comment look at this table an all you could see was blue banner advertising something! Infinythingabob…

While Antenociti’s terrain is truely fantastic, I feel that it does not work all that well with Warsenal’s terrain, which seems to come from a different time period. I think the warsenal terrain would fit better with micro arts studio or on its own.
Arranging the trees to a clearing as eye candy is a nice touch and easy enough to do. Good idea.
Also – it seems no scifi table is complete without AT-43 barricades 😉

Have only been in the table top hobby for a month now, practising my painting and and assembling on ‘hand me downs’ and I felt I was finally ready to take the plunge into one wargame that gave me multiple play style options. I must say. Infinity has done that for me :’)
