Marneus Calgar & Other Heroes Get New Warhammer 40K Minis
September 15, 2025 by brennon
After previewing the final Codex of Warhammer 40,000's 10th Edition, you'd be forgiven for thinking there wouldn't be that much need for more new miniatures just now. However, following on from a leak over the weekend, Games Workshop revealed a brand new miniature for the Ultramarines' Marneus Calgar, plus a few more heroes of the Space Marines.
Marneus Calgar // Warhammer 40,000
Coming off the back of his appearance in Space Marine II, Marneus Calgar gets a miniature worthy of that epic scene. He is still clad in the Armour of Antilochus and weilds the Gauntlets of Ultramar that can spit death and destruction into Xenos and Chaos forces arrayed against him. This miniature does have echoes of the classic Calgar in his appearance but with a modernised design to match the current run of Space Marines for Warhammer 40,000.

I can already imagine that many people will be looking to replicate the epic entrance from Space Marine II in diorama form. He does look suitably epic, although I'm sure that a lot of other people would be hoping many other Space Marines heroes would make a return, other than Calgar. Still, I'm sure that Ultramarine fans are going to have some fun with this, especially with the addition of other heroes from the Chapter also popping up.
Big Back Banners!
As well as Marneus Calgar, we also have a champion of the Ultramarines in the form of Cato Sicarius.
Cato Sicarius // Warhammer 40,000
Now appointed Captain of the Victrix Honour Guard, Cato Sicarius has been sculpted to mimic the look and feel of the classic miniature, while adding modern details. He holds an ornate helmet under one arm and weilds the Talassarian Tempest Blade, which he will be using to slay his foes.
He wears Mk X Tacticus Armour and features an excellent back banner! You also have access to two different heads for Cato Sicarius so you can show him commanding the troops or bellowing a battlecry as his Victrix Honour Guard charge into the fray.
New Victrix Honour Guard
Finally, we also have the Victrix Honour Guard that Sicarius will be commanding on the battlefield.
Victrix Honour Guard // Warhammer 40,000
Made up of veterans of the First Company, the Victrix Honour Guard are deadly warriors and bodyguards. This set comes with options for interchanging their greaves, helmets and left arm options, wielding master-crafted bolt carbines. You can also build one miniature as a Chapter Champion and another as a Chapter Ancient, carrying the massive Banner of Macragge. As Games Workshop pointed out, this could well be the biggest banner in all of Warhammer.

So, if you want to show your love for the boys in blue, the most Space Marine of Space Marines, you'll soon have a chance to not only get Marneus Calgar but also his deadly bodyguard. More news on when these will be available will be coming later in the year but I would imagine we could see a full Space Marine Codex update or a new supplement to carry them through into 11th Edition.
Could you be tempted to craft yourself a new Ultramarines army?

Good to see this woefully neglected chapter getting an update at last.
I didn’t even know this Chapter existed! Nice to see some of the more obscure ones getting attention.
Space Smurf X Romans? XD
Girlymans blue space bois,Meh. The Banner with the Nid Slayer 10/10
Washing machines live longer with Calgar.
Oh gods I can hear the jingle XD
GROANNNNN!
Ultimate Ultramarines!
Lovely minis. I fear my edge highlighting skills fall far short of ever doing them justice though.
As GW have put in C&D paperwork for things that “may confuse the customer” (remember when Andy Hobday had to change the name of his company from War Banner Games to Footsore Miniatures as GW weren’t happy with this “infringement” to their IP). Does this mean Victrix can also file an action against GW?
They could try.
