Games Workshop are taking pre-orders this weekend for the new Space Wolves Army Set that will be your first introduction to the Space Marine Chapter in the 10th Edition of Warhammer 40,000. Will you be snapping up this set and creating your own saga?

Space Wolves Army Set - Warhammer 40K

Space Wolves Army Set // Warhammer 40,000

Much like with previous Army Sets, this will be your first way to get the new and updated Space Wolves for Warhammer 40,000 but as always, all the models will be available separately in the future, so don't feel like you MUST get this for fear of missing out.

The set features two characters to lead the way. The first is the new Wolf Guard Battle Leader. He can be customised in a variety of ways including different head options as you can see below.

Wolf Guard Battle Leader - Warhammer 40K

Wolf Guard Battle Leader // Warhammer 40,000

Think of the Wolf Guard Battle Leaders as the Primaris Lieutenants of the Space Wolves if you want to match them to something from the existing Codex. This gives you a good leader option for smaller armies before you start to throw in higher-ranking leaders and special characters.

The Wolf Guard Battle Leader is backed up by one of the spiritual leaders of the Space Wolves, the Wolf Priest.

Wolf Priest // Warhammer 40,000

Acting as the shamans and soothsayers of the Space Wolves, they push other Space Wolves on to great saga-worthy feats on the tabletop. Once again, the miniature comes with a bunch of options, including the wolf skull helmet. I think prefer the bald head and the big beard myself!

Watching over the heroes above and acting as their entourage on the battlefield, you also have the Wolf Guard Headtakers.

Wolf Guard Headtakers // Warhammer 40,000

These elite warriors strike out and hunt down the deadliest monsters and enemy heroes that they can find, cutting them down alongside their Fenrisian Wolf companions. They feel like a call back to the Lone Wolves of older editions that took on an almost slayer-like role if you were comparing it to the Dwarfs of The Old World. They should also feel very "Bladeguard" in their battlefield use.

Capping things off when it comes to miniatures, the set also comes with new and updated versions of the Blood Claws and the Grey Hunters. These replace the existing First Born versions of the miniatures but since they all still come on the same bases, I wouldn't worry too much if you already have some miniatures in your collection.

Grey Hunters - Warhammer 40K

Grey Hunters // Warhammer 40,000

If you've been using Intercessors to represent Blood Claws and Grey Hunters, the loadouts and options for the miniatures aren't drastically different from what's available so you should still be able to slot them into your new armies.

Blood Claws - Warhammer 40K

Blood Claws // Warhammer 40,000

For those not in the know, the Blood Claws are the younger and impetuous Space Wolves who are looking to prove themselves. They charge headlong into the heat of battle, seeking to claim a place in the sagas of the Space Wolves.

The Grey Hunters are the more level-headed veterans of the Space Wolves who are adept at controlling the battlefield. In game terms, the Grey Hunters are more ranged-focused, whereas the Blood Claws are your deadly close combat option. Don't worry though as since all Space Wolves revel in melee all of them are very good at kicking ass and taking names.

The Army Set is capped off with a new Codex supplement for the Space Wolves, which features all of the updated rules for using the Space Wolves on the tabletop.

Limited Edition - Codex Space Wolves - Warhammer 40K

Limited Edition - Codex: Space Wolves // Warhammer 40,000

As well as the Codex, you'll also get a pack of twenty-five Datasheet Cards that cover the options from the Codex and your Combat Patrol Datasheets alongside helpful Army Rules. You even get a bunch of transfers so you can make sure that your Space Wolves look the part.

New Crusade Rules & Mission Deck

If Space Wolves aren't your thing, you can also get a new Crusade supplement for your narrative games of Warhammer 40,000.

Crusade Armageddon - Warhammer 40K

Crusade: Armageddon // Warhammer 40,000

This book throws you into a new clash on the planet of Armageddon where the Imperium are seeking to hold back the tide of World Eaters. You'll find new lore covering the various factions involved alongside new battle traits, champion options, crusade relics and sixteen missions. A good way to tell a new story in Warhammer 40,000.

If you prefer Matched Play, you can also check out the Chapter Approved Mission Deck for 2025-2026.

Chapter Approved - Mission Deck // Warhammer 40,000

The Chapter Approved Mission Deck comes with a bunch of core missions to cover Matched Play for the years ahead. You'll also find the new Challenger Cards, which add new Strategems and Missions that help to even the odds.

There are also new rules and deployment cards for 1000-point Incursion-level games, which allow for tighter and more balanced smaller games of Warhammer 40,000. There are also asymmetric missions which introduce more casual ways to play 2000-point-plus games. It's nice that Games Workshop added in more options like this for those with smaller collections.

Are you going to be diving in?
