HAPPY SUNDAY!!!
Happy Sunday
It’s the XLBS Show…….Happy Sunday Fellow CoGs!
Fantastic trip down memory lane! I’ve done this many times when looking back through old papers connected to long forgotten D&D adventures. It’s good to remember from where we’ve been to appreciate how far we’ve come.
Ah ya, the AMIGA was a great machine! I had the A500 as well as the 2000 and later the 4000/40. The last time I talked about my AMIGA days on the internet I was contacted by a ‘guy from the Internet’ who wanted to sell me some AMIGA machines.
Ah the Battle Clontarf………..maybe we fell down on this project as we didn’t get stuck into our ‘Book Club’, (until recently), as its reading was to put us in the frame of mind for the project. Wasn’t it???
Congrats to the GOLDEN BUTTON winners. Very nice work!

As to what I’ve been doing recently…….I’ve discovered the ‘Kharadron Overlords’. I’ve been snagging them up and getting started painting along with reading both Battletomes. Really enjoying them. Dwarven Merchants, Pirates, Steampunk(kind of), and floating cities.
Also, I received this week, my copy of ‘Warhammer Quest – Cursed City’. Which I think got me to look at the ‘Kharadron Overlords’ in the first place. I know some on here have ‘dogged’ on the Kharadron but I’m really getting into them. This will be my fifth AoS army.
Also, thought I’d share this…..I had a new refrigerator delivered today. I know I’m a hopeless ‘TableTop Gamer’ because as the crew was sitting up my the fridge I heard myself tell the workmen, “Don’t destroy that white styrofoam, give it to me”. As I had already formed several plans in my head for using that packing foam to make tabletop terrain. Now I just need to dig out the old ‘Beasts of War’ video where the boys carved floating land terrain for ‘Age of Sigmar’! 🙂
Happy Sunday!
I was also reading about the “whitest white” paint the other day that reflects 98% of sunlight, so if you painted your roof with it the building would be cooler. Not sure what the local authority would have to say though!
Is that shelf located above a radiator? Interesting choice…
Not quite 🙂 and that particular one is turned off 🙂
Free has started her pile of shame… Welcome aboard the Neverending Storey*!
* Not misspelled, it describes your exponential growth storage requirements for the rest of your long life.
A sunny Sunday to you all ?
Happy, happy, happy Sunday! ? Very enjoyable, long show this morning. Just the tonic to start the Sunday chores and then end the day with a bit more on my Spring Clean project before facing the next week of work! ???
@warzan wins the Battle of Clontarf for me… not literally… he’s not that old? A three-year project plan sounds like this man means business – gap, analysis, Prince 2, Excel spreadsheets, with @avernos to provide quality assurance, etc. You can do this O’ Master Shelf Builder ? .
Oh… @warzan what happened to the beard? Did you think a couple of weeks away and we wouldn’t notice? Have you changed your allegiance from hairy dwarfs to clean shaven elves or is this a temporary thing? You know beards are compulsory for CoGs… although @fcostin is exempt (the perfect foil to bring some sanity to proceedings) unless of course she wishes to join in… ???
Yay the deasty boy’s are back.
Gerry sat nav. your going the wong way, nope still wrong, ooh for fuck sake your miles off, ?
You should contact a lawyer as resident evil uses plant’s to make possons an copyright infringement @warzan ?
My art paint scene would be Banky black n white and one colour. Lol
Ooh four colours I remember when spacemarines came off in four colours. Ultramarine, imperial fists dark angles, I think the fourth may have been the wolf’s?
Have you seen the the Tacco bell illuminate lizard eye one @warzan
More great golden project winner’s?
I’ve got GW pots so old they came in the set’s with no colour names on them.
Battle of the Irish Kings.
Sounds like most of the Scottish battles minus a few sasanack Englanders.
The barbers and pubs are open in England. Yesterday I had a haircut and many pints; and I could not be happiter.
The Powermonger game was sheep powerd if you run out of them you can’t win the island.
That’s how all battles should be if the politicians want a war have at it cunts?
You never contradict the gaffer especially if they are wong. ??? @avernos it’s the only way they learn.
She is a Tart?
Wright 20 visions an roll a dice @warzan ?
Is that not the Homer strangling Bart token? @warzan
If it’s counting sheep get the spycatcher book I got it cause of the shite with Thatcher. Its the boring crap EVER I have seen guy’s.
BOW does Ready Steady GO’s.
A fab show guy’s.
Happy Sunday! Is Frees line “I watercolor anyway” the new “take SAGA for instance”? 🙂 I mix a bit of the Base color with other layers/colors on a Mini. Congrats to the GOLDEN BUTTON winners. Very nice work!
Yesss. Nice to meet another mixer! 😉
PETEY WHEATHSTRAW!!!!!!
Good day to one and all, hope your Sunday / Monday has been as sunny as mine.
First of thanks for the mention of @warzan in the house challenge, but as others put more in than me I’ll except an mention in despatched if you please.
@warzan, nice touch with the wall mounted paint rack. Now here’s an idea for you to think about, cut your paint rack in half. Why you might ask, simple really and here’s why. You have 10 rows, cut in half will give you five rows. Then put them next to each other, giving you five long rows then mount them on the wall behind your arc light. In this way you’ll get the Gerry effect, all paints with in reach with out getting your arse up of your seat.
I love how Free has painted her bases for Malifaux, is there any chance that Free could do a How to Free Cam like Gerry. It will be nice to see an alternative style if painting, and one I may add to my painting list.
Now that blackout material will really make spacegames come to life, think I’ll look in to it and may consider getting some, but not what your thinking for. Curtains, I need to darken my bedroom to get a better night’s sleep ?.
A whole bunch of well deserved Golden Buttons handed out this weekend, well done to the winners.
A big round of applause to @warzan for winning the House challenge, very well done. Now if I had to pick a winner, I would have found it a hard slog to choose. You have one house that had just House Boss, another that had just the House inmates, and the last house that had both. It just goes to show that no matter what, if there’s a will there’s a way.
Well done to all three houses, and the next house challenge will be picked by the very lovely Free ?
01:00 Gerry’s voice was what brought me to BoW/OTT back in the day…. the Star Wars: Legion let’s plays 😉

Happy Sunday. Hope people are enjoying the sunny skies, apparently rain is on the way. That was a long show but fun. Nice to see those old Fighting Fantasy maps, I loved (and still do) that series.
good show……well done to the Juvies for pulling the challenge out of the bag lol…
The blast from the past reminded me of when myself and my buddy mapped out all of Lords of Midnight and Doomdark’s Revenge onto graph paper.
That was one hell of a project.
Great show chaps. Loved the history lesson. Would love to fight it on the table top.
HAPPY SUNDAY…
I think I lost something somewhere when I started thinking that Aunt Beru was losing her mind over some other chick named Cornflake and then squaring off against some rando named Plate. This has sounded more like a Michael Jackson type fairytale he’d tell his kids Blanket and Star. Then again I might not be seeing the subtext of all the Amiga game trading in a backyard shed. Now, it all makes me wonder about the Star Wars connection to airships being promised for sheep procurement for The Force. I’m very confused as an American with this new learning of English. Sheep’s bladders and banana shaped worlds are starting to make sense… the vodka might be helping in this regard.
good episode, especially the coverage of Clontarf games, although i would have liked Ben there
Another brilliant XLBS! Congrats to the Golden Button winners!
Even though all three projects for the Battle of Clontarf were very well thought out and did sound like a lot of fun, it was the House of Warren’s that really sucked me into the story of it all. So I vote that one as well!
This really makes me want to do something similar for the Gododdin!
Last little bit, Donnchadh is pronounced Done-uh-khuh (the ‘kh’ like ‘ch’ in Scottish Loch) 😉
@avernos You almost pronounced my name right. Closer than most as well. =P
I aim to please, or at least come closer than most to pleasing
Much respect to @nosbigdamus for really putting the graft in on the House of Three Truths effort.
I am very happy that the new maps are finally coming, I had been waiting for them for a long time and they are finally here now, only remains to play with it, I will just put map radius tool to find out about a nearby store that can sell me controls because I will need new ones with everything that is coming.
