Haven’t worked on any Silver Bayonet minis for a while due to my ongoing Spring Clean project.

However, I had wanted to do something with regards to the storage of the terrain that I had put together so far – in particular the undergrowth rocks and such. As they were just sitting on top of other boxes, that I need to tidy up 😊

Silver Bayonet terrain storage

Initially I thought I would use some offcuts of polystyrene, mark out the base sizes and cut them out. However, my hot wire cutter seems to have failed. I tried a hobby knife, but after a short while that proved to be a no go. Instead I thought I would try some old pieces of soft foam that I had lying around. I marked out the layout on that, cut them out with a new sharp blade, glued it to some offcuts of hardboard and used duct tape to stick them together in the bottom of an underbed storage box.

I still need to work out some more efficient storage of the rest of the pieces though…. The larger scatter goes in well, the trees sort of sit in one corner but…. The river, bridge, ruined chapel and box of small scatter just kind of live on top of the rest. However, it has done the job of getting them together in a storage box that can be moved around, and holds the majority of the smaller (and heavy due to stones) pieces in place to prevent them banging around, knocking into other pieces and getting damaged. The windmill currently doesn’t fit in – but I may end up doing a second storage box at some point.
