TG: Age of Legends - Chapter Thirteen

After the battle there was little celebration – most of the troops were far too exhausted. Thebalt retired to his tent and fell asleep. He was rudely awakened in the early hours by an assassin trying to kill him. He was only saved by the timely arrival of Sir Lancelot. Emerging from his tent badly wounded, the camp was in chaos as the army had seemingly split into two factions that were now attempting to wipe each other out.

Sir Lancelot and Thebalt raced to Arthur’s tent, where they found the rest of the Knights of the Round Table and King Arthur. With the aid of the King, the battle swung in favour of the loyalists. News soon arrived that this had happened all over Avalon. Humanity had descended into civil war just as Arthur had needed to muster all of humanity’s strength to assault Tuathan. Arthur decided that he could not risk stalling his invasion. He was to lead the army into battle, while Thebalt was tasked with stopping the civil war.

In the coming few days Thebalt toured every settlement on the island. Having already travelled extensively, and helping people as he had done so, he found he already had many friends in powerful positions and was quickly able to rally each settlement to the King’s side. Finally in Tintagel Thebalt hosted discussions between the two sides. By the end of the day the civil war was over, and Arthur remained King.
