Decals upgrade for grav tanks
Didn’t have time to do decals before a tournament for the client, so the two grav tanks get decals!
In case anyone doesn’t like doing decals, here’s my process:
1. cut decal (obviously)
2. gloss varnish area where decal is going. Decals like shiny surfaces
3. using tweezers, hold decal under lukewarm water for around 25 seconds (GW decals, others will vary)
4. touch the decal corner to a shop towel, to soak off excess water
5. using a modelling q-tip (mine are Tamiya brand), slide the decal into place; if the decal lands where you aren’t happy with it, one wet side of the q-tip can be used to reposition it
6. using folded shop towel bit, carefully dab the decal, to fix it in place and remove any bubbles.
7. use decal medium (softener) over the decal – this will help melt away the thicker edges, and conform the decal to the shape if not a flat surface; you may need to re-do this step for really odd shapes
8. when dry, re-apply gloss varnish over the decal – this really fixes the decal in place and is protective
9. All done? Matt varnish the model as usual.
So simple!

I have Iyandenn myself, and those transports look stunning! Mine are way more yellow, but I might change my mind…
The blue addition really makes them Iyanden! Are your minis posted somewhere? @kamaron Would love to see your work. These are sadly all not mine, but I have a mountain of my own Eldar to paint.
