I enoy the aesthetic of the Black Templars, I even enjoy the Borther Cadfael Tonsured haircut and wanted to start a force. However my time spent painting Horus Heresy Dark Angels left me sick of all black army. In response I thought about what I enjoy painting and would look good and came up with the below scheme. I settled on going for a more medival theme, so wanted my Black Templars to look more Knightly/Monastic. I’m pleased with how well the white shoulder plates and weaons goes with the metail armour. To keep with my theme robes and straps etc. will be a brown clolour more reminiscent of the brown robes you typically see monks portrayed in.

Prime – Black  and overbrush with a silver paint

or Primer – Silver and wash with Basilicanum Grey

After shading the mini dry brush the edges with a slightly brighter silver

Wraithbone was used for the white parts (weapon cases, shoulder pads, handles etc.). I find that although not a pure white it covers very well and applys smoothly than most white paints I’ve come across. Army Paineter Strong Tone is use to selective shade the recesses.

Leather parts are Mournfang Brown and highlighted with Skrag Brown

Eyelenses, screens, buttons etc. I used Warp Lightening
