Back in 2021 I started up a project under my old BoW handle about painting small miniatures to help with my depression. Up until that time I’d never painted anything smaller than 28mm before and it was a revelation to me just how much I enjoyed the 10mm scale. Since I’ve picked up several different projects in smaller scales (6, 8, 10 and 15 are all in the collection) but I’ve always had a soft spot for my dwarves.

The original models came from Pendraken’s Hill Dwarf line and later I added in models from Kallistra. At some point (probably to be found in another project but I’m not going back through all my posts to figure it out) I not only finished the army, I rebased it onto 40mmx40mm for Fantastic Battles. They have sat in my glass cabinet ever since.

However, after a rough year at work I had a real brain blip that has been affecting painting for the last few months. I’ve still been getting things done but it has been all over the place and not good at finishing things.

This past week I had to return to work and go to an all weekend wedding. Let me tell you, as a double bill of stressors, it was a lot. I knew it was going to be overwhelming so I planned to pack a hobby station to escape to.

The obvious choice? Some of the new Wargames Atlantic 10mm dwarves. Here we go again…

No denial: packing a hobby stress relief kit to a weekend wedding is a baller move. 10mm for the win! Also, that’s gotta be a Coke and rum? #copingsucks

Welcome back to 10mm. Therapy session on Tuesday night will commence as usual. 🙂
